The City Of Queens Honoring A Tribe Called Quest With Mural

TRIBE WILL BE HONORED IN QUEENS

According to TMZ, legendary super Hip-Hop group A Tribe Called Quest will be recognized for their accomplishments by their native Queens.

A side of Nu-Clear Dry Cleaners, which was featured in the cult classic “Check The Rhime” music video, will be adorned with a mural of the the group.

Linden Boulevard in Queens will be the lucky local for the mural and many are hoping that the street itself which is where the cleaners is located may eventually be renamed or simultaneously named A Tribe Called Quest Blvd.

Founding group member Jarobi White called upon fans to help get a street renamed as a testament to his fallen group mate and best friend Phife Dawg in April of this year.

Super fans responded by petitioning to get Linden Boulevard between 192nd and 193rd streets to be renamed A Tribe Called Quest Blvd.

Councilman Daneek Miller reports that there have been no objections to the paperwork that has been filed, so he is expecting the mural project to be a go in the coming months.

A mock-up of the mural by Midnight Marauders cover designer Vince Ballentine is said to have been commissioned.
