On Wednesday night, Rihanna ended her 777 tour in NYC at Webster Hall. The raunchy singer was reportedly annoyed with her “big brother” Jay-Z because he strolled in very late to her show and missed what was supposed to be a huge surprise performance for her fans. Check out the way the NY Daily News is reporting it: “Superstar rapper Jay-Z fans almost got a special addition to her concert on Wednesday night: A performance by Jay-Z. A source reveals the rapper and mentor to the 24-year-old pop star meant to perform alongside Rihanna at her Webster Hall show, “but things didn’t work out.” Instead, Jay-Z caught the singer’s last show in her “#777” concert series from the sound area of the VIP section. While he didn’t join Rihanna backstage after the show for pizza and red wine with DJ Reflex, who opened for her, he did pop by her album release party for “Unapologetic” at 40/40 Club. But Riri still missed Jay: The notoriously tardy pop star didn’t arrive till nearly 2 a.m., for cognac and chicken wings with her family, while Jay-Z stopped in around 1 a.m. for a single drink, then called it a night.” At least he was there for the photo opp, Ri Ri. Hip-Hop Rumors: Was Nicki Minaj Turned Away From Her Own Party?

If you’re from the tri-state area and you’ve been to the popular nightclub, Greenhouse, you know that they get a big side eye most of the time because of their funny style actions at the door…..especially when it comes to a certain “type” of person. You get what I’m saying. Well, I guess even the rich and famous are not exempt to these rules. YMCMB’s golden goose, Nicki Minaj, was reportedly denied access to her own Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up album release party in New York City the other night. According to Huffington Post, Nicki arrived at the club with her beau and writing partner, Safaree, and 25 of her closest friends at about 3:30AM. According to a source at the club, “The cops denied Nicki access saying the venue was capacity. She tried to celebrate with fans but was turned away at the door.” But wait a second, The NY Daily News is reporting a whole different story. According to them, Safaree was the diva and arrived at the venue with 30 guys and no girls. According to their source, he was demanding to come in and threatening that if they didn’t oblige, he would tell Nicki not to come to the club. Safaree was reportedly let inside with only three people from his entourage and was not happy about it. “He wouldn’t stop complaining, he wanted more people to come in… then left the club and never returned. At that point, it was evident he told [Minaj] not to come, though he told everyone else that she was on her way.” Hmm, the second story sounds more plausible. But if Nicki was left outside of her party, I would love to get my hands on that footage. I’m sure she is royally going off on the doorman. Side note – Don’t expect Nicki’s new album, Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded The Re-Up to do crazy numbers next week. According to Nicki, the album is going to be very hard to find for her fans, as Target and Walmart both refused to carry the album. Ouch! Target and Wal-Mart are not selling the album, and Target is actually my biggest retailer. Best Buy only took limited [stock] because they wanted to play it safe. When Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz first began their relationship a few years back, a lot of people were up in arms because of the controversial start to the relationship (you know with Swizz being married with a one-year-old at home). Well, Alicia wanted to put those rumors to rest, and in a recent interview with JET magazine, she was quoted as saying that Swizz and his wife Mashonda were “apart for some time” before her and Swizz started dating. Mashonda isn’t holding any punches back, and in a brand new interview with Global Grind, she spoke openly about the situation and says that she has proof to show that they were having a relationship when Swizz was still in a relationship with her. No, we were not “apart” or separated, and that’s just a fact that can be proven in many ways. Blessings have a way of disguising themselves. This situation has helped me to understand life and what really matters.” Mashonda was especially peeved that Alicia is talking about the situation at all, since she was in the wrong. “Not much surprises me anymore when it comes to this situation. The Jet interview just added insult to injury. I can’t figure out how this makes us better. How is it a positive, humanitarian gesture? This is all according to the king of R&B himself, who revealed to MTV that he has written 30 more chapters of the series and has shot a movie about the new chapters. “In four weeks I did 30 chapters of Trapped in the Closet. I’m proud of it. I’m very excited about it because it took on a life of its own. It took me over.” R. Kelly revealed the new chapters yesterday in NYC, and says that he has created lots of additional characters to whet the appetites of his “trapped” fans. The next step for R. Kelly is to have his “Trapped In The Closet” series make the leap to Broadway, which is not as huge of a feat as it seems, because he has already received offers from some Broadway big wigs. Non Hip-Hop Rumors: Mike Epps Goes Wild! Shots Fired?

Comedian Mike Epps was celebrating his birthday at a nightclub in Hollywood earlier this week, when he got into a fight with an unidentified man near the dance floor. The man had allegedly been heckling Epps all night long, who was partying in the V.I.P. section with a few of his close friends. According to TMZ, Epps went outside to get some air when he and the heckler crossed paths. The man continued to berate Epps; when the comedian finally had enough, he charged him. A huge melee broke out with drinks flying everywhere, and Epps’ security sprung into action and pulled Epps away from the fight and back into his V.I.P. section. In the middle of the melee, the police were called, and someone reported that they heard gunshots in the club, allegedly from either Epps or the bozo who was bothering him. The LAPD shut the club down and kicked everyone out. Fortunately, they didn’t find any shell casings, and so far no charges have been pressed on Epps or the heckler. TMZ got a hold of the surveillance footage from the nightclub, which shows Epps charge after the man – but no gun was shown. Check out the grainy footage below to see Mike whooping the heckler’s *ss. Hip-Hop Rumors: What The?! G Dep Says He's "Happy" With 15 Years To Life Prison Sentence

It sounds as if former Bad Boy artist-turned-PCP addict G-Dep has come to terms with spending the next 15 years of his life behind bars. As I’m sure you’ve heard, back in 1993 when G-Dep was only 18 years old, he robbed and shot a man and got away with it. The guilt of that crime had always haunted Dep and in late 2011, he decided to come clean. Dep walked into a police precinct and confessed to the robbery and shooting, and unfortunately for him, it turned out that the man who Dep shot was actually killed. Dep went on trial for the murder of Job Henkel, and he was sentenced to 15 years to life in prison. Now serving his time behind bars, G-Dep is at peace with his fate, and in a new interview with NY Magazine, he actually reveals that he is “happy” about his sentence. Check out what he said below: “I was happy. It sounds crazy to say you were happy about getting a fifteen-to-life-sentence, but I was. Alicia Keys and her husband Swizz Beatz have been married for two years and have an adorable son together, but some people can’t get past the allegations that these two hooked up while Swizzy was still married. Both Swizz and Alicia have denied these claims, but the unfortunate fact is that these two did, in fact, begin dating while Swizz was legally still married… although he claims to have been separated from his wife, R&B singer Mashonda, at the time. In a new interview with Jet magazine, Alicia says that she is tired of fighting claims that are “not true,” and she takes the time to clarify the public perception of their union. Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Lil’ Scrappy Get Kicked Out Of A Hotel By The Police?

Even though Lil’ Scrappy is one of the stars of cable TV’s highest rated TV show’s this year, Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta, that didn’t stop a local promoter in Kentucky from trying to jerk the rapper out of money. According to Scrappy, he was booked to perform at a local club in Kentucky, but when he got there, the promoter did not have his money. Scrappy did not want to disappoint his fans and in exchange for a small amount of money, he agreed to do a meet and great at the club instead of performing. Once Scrappy got back to his hotel, he was told that his reservation had been cancelled and he had to vacate immediately. The promoter had cancelled Scrappy’s hotel because he was upset that he did not perform. The hotel took matters into their own hands and called the police to make sure that Scrappy left the premises peacefully. Come on son! We hear that Scrappy left the hotel with no further issues, but was very embarrassed by the whole ordeal. Well Scrappy, that’s what happens when you deal with Janky Promoters! Hip-Hop Rumors: Did Andre 3000 Really Shade Big Boi Over A Gillette Commercial?

Big Boi has been on a publicity run as of late, promoting his upcoming solo album, Vicious Lies and Dangerous Rumors, which will be in stores next month. In a recent interview with the Village Voice, Big Boi was asked why his Outkast partner in crime, Andre 3000, was not featured on the album, and the answer he gave left a bad taste in the mouth of Outkast fans everywhere. Check out what Big Boi told them below: “He could’ve been on any song he wanted to. I gave the motherf*cker about five songs, but I guess he was just too busy,” Big Boi said when asked about Laface Records not authorizing an Andre 3000 collaboration. “He said he had to do some Gillette sh*t [room erupts in laughter]. No for real. He said he had some contractual obligations.” Well, now that the article has been reposted everywhere, Big Boi is taking a few steps back from the comments and in a recent interview with MTV’s Rap Fix, Big Boi is now clarifying that he was only kidding. “I was being sarcastic and they took it and ran with it. It was a vicious misunderstanding, how my man ain’t gonna be on my album to do a shaving commercial? Get the f— outta here.” Okay Big Boi, but I must say this before I end this story. I truly believe that inside every joke lies a little bit of the truth. Andre 3000, I’m really going to need you to put that razor and shaving gel down and get with Big Boi for at least one more Outkast album. The game needs it! Side note – Andre 3000 granted a rare interview with Fuse this week on behalf of Gillette…. and spoke about his collaboration with Frank Ocean on Ocean’s Channel Orange album. Andre must have been really impressed, because he called Ocean an icon. Check out what he said below: “Frank Ocean, he let me hear the song, he said, ‘I just want you to tell a story. Honestly, I don’t care what it is, just tell a story.’ And when I got the track, I just started writing to it and I was just, I’m just happy to be a part of that whole movement and his whole movement because he has become a whole ‘nother kind of icon in today’s age. So I was just happy to be a part of that album.
