Word on the block is that internet radio app, Pandora, is paying artists a boatload of money to be able to use their songs. According to a statement released by Pandora founder Tim Westergren, Pandora pays more than 2,000 artists over $10,000 each for using their music. So, who gets the most cash? That would be Drake and Lil’ Wayne. Both artists earn $3 million a year just for licensing their music to Pandora! That $3 million guaranteed for not doing anything at all. ColdPlay is the only other group of artists that also earns that much cash from the radio station. Wiz Khalifa is cashing in those checks, too, and also makes a cool $1 million from the site. Yesterday, Nelly’s tour bus was pulled over by border patrol at a checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. Authorities found 36 small baggies of heroin (totaling .64 ounces) and over 10 pounds of marijuana inside a large green duffle bag. Late last night, Nelly released a statement about the incident. Check out what he said below: “It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning, October 11th. Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. According to Beanie Sigel, Kanye West almost got his Roc-A-Fella “chain tooken” from a gang of goons a few years back. In an interview with Vlad TV, the Philly bred rapper recalls a story from back in his Roc-A-Fella days, when he had to come to the aid of Yeezy after a stand-off with some goons at a diner. According to Beanie’s recollection of the story, Kanye was at a diner with a few of his friends, when some bold goons pulled up their chairs to his table and sat down with the Chi-town rapper. The goons were threatening Kanye and implied that they were going to steal his jewelery as soon as he stepped foot outside of the diner. Yeezy took to his cell phone and called Beanie Sigel over to help handle the situation. Check out how Beanie tells the story below: “He [Kanye] felt threatened. Nothing was going to go down – not while I was there. Well, in a recent interview with XXL Magazine, Big Sean revealed that he had just recorded a track entitled “Jesus Piece” for his upcoming sophomore album, Hall of Fame: Memoirs of a Detroit Player. Meanwhile, Kendrick blamed the absence of the track on not quite fitting in with the rest of his music: “Me and Lady Gaga, we really good friends. She’s not on the album. We got some records, but when I was breaking down the bulk of the album, the ones we picked, we set them aside for future reference,” the West Coast lyricist told Power 105.1’s The Breakfast Club. “I already had everything premeditated for this day, for October 22nd.” Lady Gaga begs to differ, and released a statement blaming the absence on Kendrick’s meddling camp making changes and compromising her music.
