483: Trick Daddy, The Interview

Miami based rapper Trick Daddy is best known for his music. Each song is a reflection of himself or somebody he knows. Throughout his music career, Trick Daddy has been deemed controversial. This stigma is usually branded on artists who bring the ills of society to the public eye. The title of “controversial artist” sticks because the artists usually has little chance to defend himself(sic) in public because the song which explains it all isn’t covered by the mainstream. Unfortunately, this causes the artist to be highly misunderstood. Trick Daddy understands this but in no way apologizes for his music. He writes what he knows. This is evident in his new autobiography, Magic City: Trails of a Native Son. Written by Trick Daddy and Peter Bailey. I had the opportunity to interview Trick prior to the book coming out. He explains that his book should be used as a deterrent and should not be seen as glorification.

Pharrell Williams Has A Team Of 12 Nurses To Care For Triplets

(AllHipHop News) Pharrell Williams has a rotating team of 12 nurses on his payroll to help care for his baby triplets. The Happy superstar and his wife Helen Lasichanh welcomed two boys and a girl in January, 2017, and they have had their hands full ever since, as they are also parents to their nine-year-old son Rocket. Despite his busy home life, Pharrell has managed to keep churning out hit songs as a producer and artist, while also touring with his reunited band N.E.R.D., and working on various fashion projects. However, Pharrell admits none of that would be possible if he and Helen didn’t have full-time help as they rely on the professional support system day and night. “We’re not alone…,” he admitted on new talk show GMA Day. “Our parents are involved and we also have a staff; in terms of nurses, we have like, 12 people… Twelve ladies are in constant rotation: three in the morning, two at night.” Although the babies are not even two years old, Pharrell admits he is already starting to dread the day his little girl starts dating. After learning co-host Michael Strahan’s twin girls are 13 years old, he remarked, “You’re building a new fear.” “We have a daughter too, man, and this world is a crazy place,” Pharrell said. “It’s a beautiful place, but it’s a crazy place…” The musician’s comments about the couple’s hired help comes a year after he heaped praise on Helen for taking care of their babies’ every need. “My wife is (U.S. Navy special forces) SEAL Team Six,” he gushed on breakfast show Today of her abilities as a mom. “There’s nothing she can’t do. I mean, she carried those three bodies, and she’s just on it all the time.” Pharrell, who has yet to publicly announce the names of the new additions, also gave fans an insight into life as a father of triplets. “I have a tribe,” he smiled. “It’s an assembly line… they harmonise (when they cry). It’s ‘Waah! Waah! Waah!’ all at the same time. Like one cries, the next one cries, the next one cries. They’re hungry, they’re hungry, they’re hungry.”

Mary J. Blige Shuts Down Rumors Of Faith Evans Fight

(AllHipHop News) Mary J. Blige has shut down rumors that she had a fight with Faith Evans last week, insisting the claims were “made up.” As news broke of Cardi B and Nicki Minaj’s altercation at the Harper’s Bazaar party in New York on Friday night, speculation hit social media that Mary and Faith had also been involved in an incident while attending a bash hosted by Diddy in the Hamptons on the same evening. The report began thanks to a tweet someone posted which read: “Mary j blige and Faith Evans just got into a physical altercation at P. Diddys NYFW party.” However, as she attended the Dennis Basso show at New York Fashion Week on Monday night, which she walked in, Mary set the record straight about the incident, telling the New York Post’s Page Six: “Of course that was made up. I was shooting a movie in Louisiana… I just got here today.” Faith’s representative also hit back at the claims, telling website HollywoodLife that the rumors were “totally false” and “(Diddy) didn’t even have a party.” Mary looked stunning as she took to the catwalk at the Dennis Basso show, but added she had never thought she would get the opportunity to strut her stuff on a runway. “I was a tomboy who thought about running in the streets or hopping a fence, playing basketball,” she explained. “I’m not gonna sit here and lie just because we at a fashion show. I just did not think about it, because I was not that girl.” And explaining her technique for walking the runway, Mary added: “I don’t need the runway to walk with a f##k-you mentality. I walk down the street with a f##k-you attitude… It’s not ‘F##k the world,’ but ‘This is me, and you can’t stop me from being me.’”

YG Slapped With Two More Felony Charges Over Las Vegas Incident

(AllHipHop News) Rapper YG is facing two more felony charges relating to an alleged robbery in Las Vegas earlier this year. YG, real name Keenon Jackson, stands accused of stealing a gold chain and diamond pendant from a fan named Benjamin Naderi in May, after asking YG for a photo while at The Cosmopolitan hotel. The MC refused and then reportedly grew upset, as members of his entourage allegedly jumped Naderi, while the hip-hop star is said to have helped himself to the man’s jewelry. YG surrendered to police in July after a warrant was issued for his arrest, and he was initially slapped with one count of felony robbery. Grand jury officials have since slapped him with two more charges for grand larceny and larceny from a person. Each of the new counts carry sentences of up to 10 years behind bars. YG, who is currently free on bail, is set to be arraigned later this month. Meanwhile, Naderi is also suing the rapper for assault, battery, and theft, and is demanding at least $250,000 in damages. He is also suing hotel executives for failing to employ adequate security, but they are seeking to be dismissed from the suit, insisting they had nothing to do with the altercation, which involved third parties.

(AllHipHop News) Drake has tied Usher for the most weeks at the top of the U.S. pop charts in a calendar year. The Canadian rapper’s “In My Feelings” has landed a ninth week at number one, taking his run of 2018 chart-toppers to 28 weeks. That matches Usher’s feat in 2004. Drake has chalked up his 28 weeks on top with three hits – “In My Feelings,” “God’s Plan” and “Nice For What.” He also breaks a tie with Usher for the most career weeks at number one, with 48. Meanwhile, Eminem debuts two songs in the new Billboard Hot 100 – “Lucky You,” featuring Joyner Lucas enters at six, while “The Ringer” jumps in at eight, giving the rapper his 18th and 19th top 10 hits and his first since “The Monster” hit number one in 2014. Maroon 5’s “Girls Like You,” featuring Cardi B, stays put at two for a fifth week, while Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin’s “I Like It” holds at three. 6ix9ine and Nicki Minaj’s “FEFE” jumps up a spot to four, switching places with Post Malone’s “Better Now,” which rounds out the new top five.

John Legend Confirms Kanye West Is ‘Serious’ About Running For U.S. President

L(AllHipHop News) Singer John Legend is convinced his rapper pal Kanye West is serious about preparing for a U.S. presidential run. Kanye has announced his intention to secure the top seat in the White House several times, most recently during a radio interview in his native Chicago, Illinois last month, when he revealed he is aiming to launch a campaign in 2024. Some critics have brushed off Kanye’s statements, but his close friend and collaborator John believes the hip-hop star’s political ambitions are sincere. “He’s said it multiple times. Yeah, I think he’s serious,” Legend told UK newspaper The Sun. “I’d guess he’d run as an independent, but he’s never told me anything about what party he would run from. But he’s said multiple times that he’s interested in running for president. “And I think that’s part of why he likes (current U.S. President Donald) Trump is because I think he sees some aspects of himself in Trump and sees that Trump winning makes it feel like he could do it too.” Kanye has stoked controversy for his public support of the Republican leader, who has repeatedly faced a backlash over hateful speech and unpopular policies, such as separating immigrant children from their parents upon entering the U.S. illegally from Mexico. Kim Kardashian’s husband also grabbed headlines in May after his ill-advised comments about African-American slaves, insisting their enslavement was a “choice” they made. John, who has been critical of Trump for years, has also criticized Kanye for his controversial statements, with the rapper posting images of texts the “Glory” singer sent asking him to reconsider his beliefs on Twitter. In hindsight, John is happy his objections were exposed by Kanye online, because he is proud of standing up to his friend whenever they disagree. “I was stunned when he posted the texts, but then, my other side of me was like, well, I’m glad I said what I said and I’m glad people know what I said to him,” John shared. “So many people were worried that Kanye was saying the things he was saying and that there weren’t people advising him differently. So part of me was happy that people saw that I was telling him the truth and telling him how I felt and I was proud of everything I said to him.”

Meek Mill Was At Party When Cardi B And Nicki Minaj Scuffled

(AllHipHop News) Nicki Minaj’s ex Meek Mill was at the New York party when the singer’s fight with Cardi B broke out. The two stars clashed at a star-studded Harper’s Bazaar bash during New York Fashion Week last Friday night, after Cardi accused the “Super Bass” hitmaker of disrespecting her and her baby daughter, Kulture. Further details of the brawl have been emerging ever since, with model Tess Holliday one of the stars in attendance at the bash. And in a chat with PeopleTV’s Chatter, Tess revealed that Nicki’s former love Meek was also at the party when the altercation began. “It was crazy,” she said. “The fight happened when Christina (Aguilera) was singing ‘Genie in a Bottle.’ Everyone was losing their minds. After the party people were less interested in the party and more into the (fight). We were all calling people. https://www.google.com/sorry/index?continue=https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JcfJaQlsvm4%26feature=youtu.be&q=EgQi3HnaGPX7gvkFIhkA8aeDS486QXGC6tBhE_w6fZ0laJN23sxhMgFy “I will say that Meek Mill came up to my publicist and was like ‘Yo did y’all see that Cardi Nicki fight’.” Tess’ revelation comes after Nicki broke her silence about the incident during her Apple Music Queen Radio show on Beats 1 on Monday, admitting she still felt “humiliated” about their headline-grabbing encounter. “The other night I was a part of something so mortifying, so humiliating to go through in front of upper echelon people – it’s not about black or white – people who have their lives together,” she said. “I was mortified… I could not believe how humiliated I felt… how we – and I use the term ‘we’ loosely – made ourselves look.” Taking aim at reports suggesting she poked fun at her rival’s baby, Nicki added, “I would never discuss anyone’s child. “It’s so sad for someone to pin that on me. I would never talk about anyone’s child or parenting, I don’t give a s##t… You know I didn’t say or never did talk about anyone’s child… I am not a clown, that’s clown s##t.”

Rapper Young Thug Facing Arrest Warrant

(AllHipHop News) An arrest warrant has been issued for rapper Young Thug over gun and drug charges. Young Thug was stopped by Georgia police officers in September, 2017 for driving around in a vehicle with illegally tinted front windows, and during the traffic stop, cops allegedly found marijuana and guns. The rap star was booked on a felony drug count and a misdemeanor for the tinted windows, and during a court appearance, he was was also hit with a felony charge for gun possession. Last week, it was reported he was facing another felony charge for drug possession for narcotics and liquid codeine and possession and intent to distribute methamphetamine, hydrocodone, and marijuana, bringing the total charges to eight felonies. A warrant has now been issued for his arrest in connection to the charges. The rapper has yet to comment on the warrant. Young Thug, real name Jeffery Williams, is also dealing with issues stemming from an incident outside his 27th birthday party in Hollywood last month, when the rapper’s car was reportedly pulled over by cops after allegedly bumping into another vehicle. During a search of the vehicle, several guns were found. Williams is reportedly contesting law enforcement officials’ account of the incident and claims he and his crew were not in the car when it was pulled over. An insider has also said two of Young Thug’s associates had permits allowing them to carry weapons.

French Montana Warns Young Stars Against Drugs After Mac Miller’s Death

(AllHipHop News) Rapper French Montana has warned “young rock stars” to avoid drugs as he paid tribute to Mac Miller. The 26-year-old MC was pronounced dead by paramedics at his San Fernando Valle, California home on Friday (September 7). After news broke, French took to social media to pay his respects. He shared a video of a 2016 Fader documentary on Mac, with the clip focusing on his time in the studio with French, and late rapper Chinx, who died in 2015 during a drive-by shooting. “This video just gave me the chills. I’m the only one still alive in this video, its sad, but thats the odds of making it out here. 1 out of 3” the “Unforgettable” hitmaker wrote on Instagram. https://www.instagram.com/p/BncjVjej4tQ/ “Anyone who knows me knows I never co-sign or try to ride the wave or be cool at the expense of risk to the life of anyone of my people. “This is a reality check for you young rockstars. RIP my brother.” The footage shows Mac talking about his substance abuse issues as he mixes ‘sizzurp’ – a drink made from a mixture of codeine, Sprite, and Jolly Ranchers candy. Mac is seen laughing off warnings from French about the amount he’s using, after the rapper’s hand can be seen shaking uncontrollably. “Listen to me, I’m your brother. This right here, you’re going to miss a couple of shows,” the Moroccan-born star tells him. Mac also spookily commented on the chances of suffering a fatal overdose in the 2016 documentary, insisting that would never be him. “I’d rather be the corny, white rapper, than the drugged out mess who can’t even get out of his house. Overdosing is just not cool… you don’t go down in history because you overdosed… you just die,” he said. Early reports suggested Miller had died from a suspected drug overdose, but an official cause of death has yet to be determined, as his autopsy on Saturday was inconclusive. The final ruling will be made following the return of toxicology results.

According to Daz, who is a well-known and well-connected member of the Crips, Kanye has sought a restraining order after his “Crip Alert” last night. “Kanye put a restraining order on me, I appreciate it,” Daz said as his associate hurled insults at the Chicago producer. Yesterday (April 29), Daz told Crips around the country to assault Kanye at his shows and on sight, in addition to banning the rap star from California, where he lives.

Rick Ross was the headliner of the NRG Wave Concert on April 28 in Nairobi. Rozay was the big draw for NRG Wave, which took place at the Carnivore Grounds. Prior to this show, Rick Ross explored the country, where he was impressed with the art and culture in Kenya. Squatter Files For Bankruptcy So He Can Stay In Timbaland’s Mansion

(AllHipHop News) Timbaland recently won a legal battle and was granted permission to kick a squatter out of his Miami mansion. Tim filed a lawsuit against William Zamora, whom he claims has been staying in his Miami mansion illegally, after the two men entered an agreement for Zamora to purchase the $3 million dollar home. But the deal fell apart after Timbaland accused Zamora of failing to pay him $30,000 a month in rent as the purchase was being finalzed. Timbaland asked a judge to boot Zamora from the house, but he filed his own countersuit claiming he had already made $300,000 worth of repairs to the mansion. Earlier this month, a judge agreed with Timbaland that William Zamora should be removed from the mansion. As he was being evicted, William Zamora decided to file for bankruptcy, which means he will not be leaving Timbaland’s mansion anytime soon. The filing will only further delay Timbaland’s five-year quest to sell the Miami mansion, which he decided to put on the market after his divorce from his ex-wife.
