(AllHipHop News) Rap mogul Marion “Suge” Knight’s murder trial will begin in September. The Death Row Records co-founder is accused of ramming his Ford F-150 pickup into two men during a fracas in a Los Angeles parking lot in January 2015. Terry Carter, 55, died from his injuries. Suge has pleaded not guilty, arguing that he acted in self-defense. The murder trial was initially set for January, but two former members of Knight’s defense team were indicted on charges of conspiracy to commit bribery, conspiracy to commit subornation of perjury, conspiracy to commit obstruction of justice and serving as accessories after the fact. The trial was postponed again earlier this month but on Monday, four days after the rap boss’ 53rd birthday, he and the judge agreed on a September 24 start date.

Celina Powell claims the rapper, who is expecting a child with fiancee Cardi B, is her month-old child Karma’s dad, and she wants him to take a DNA test to prove it. “He was shook,” she said recalling serving the rap star with the legal documents. “Kenny and Danny (Zook) (his managers) were p##### off. They threw the papers on the floor.. So now I’ve got to wait… “Offset was in town for a concert, near where I live in Colorado, and I pretended to be the venue’s manager. I acted like I was the promoter and called up Danny… to find out when they will be at the venue… It all happened really fast. Plus they missed their flight and were late to the show so they were like rushing and the sheriff just gave him the papers and he threw them and kept walking.” Powell is convinced Offset will take the test because “he thinks I am lying.” “DNA cases are closed cases, so he probably thinks it’s going to come out negative and I am going to post it and he can say I faked it or something and have no proof,” she adds. “But watch it come out positive and he will have to pay me!”

(AllHipHop News) Madonna lost a lawsuit seeking to regain ownership of a break-up letter rapper Tupac Shakur wrote to her. The case started in July of 2017, when a woman who used to work for Madonna named Darlene Lutz put the letter up for auction with a starting bid of $100,000. Madonna filed a lawsuit seeking to block the sale of the letter against her former art consultant, but she has lost the case according to reports. A judge recently threw the case out of court, since Madonna had actually signed a release granting Lutz control of the letter and other memorabilia when the pair ended their relationship in 2004. Now, the letter in which Pac poured out his heart to the singer, is free and clear to be auctioned off. Here is a portion of Tupac’s breakup letter to Madonna: “For you to be seen with a black man wouldn’t in any way jeopardize your career, if anything it would make you seem that much more open and exciting. (AllHipHop News) R&B singer Usher has asked a judge to seal the legal documents in his herpes lawsuit. Usher is facing court action from Quantasia Sharpton, who went public with her rumored night of passion with Usher during a press conference in August. Sharpton revealed she had not contracted herpes from the alleged encounter at a Days Inn hotel following an Usher concert in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 2014, but is suing because she believes she had been put at risk by the musician. Usher has refuted her claims and the singer is now seeking to keep his responses to her requests for evidence under wraps. He is reportedly worried his answers will identify another unnamed woman suing him for the same reason and expose her medical records, while he is also concerned private information could be made public in the media and violate a reported court order between himself, Sharpton, and the unidentified woman. A hearing on the motion is scheduled for later this month. The unidentified Georgia woman, who claims she was diagnosed with herpes after sleeping with the musician, filed suit in July, demanding $20 million in punitive damages and another $20 million for emotional harm and medical bills. Usher, who recently separated from his second wife Grace Miguel, has also denied those allegations and previously asked a judge to dismiss the lawsuit.

The “Purple Rain” icon regularly played lucrative private gigs, and one three-year-old memo reveals the Smiths were among those willing to pay big bucks to treat 100 guests to a very special night out in Los Angeles, scheduled for September 17, 2015. It appears the bash was arranged to celebrate Jada’s birthday, as she turned 44 the following day. It’s not known if Prince agreed to headline the event, but the note was among the treasure trove of paperwork recovered by Minnesota police following the superstar’s untimely death at his Paisley Park estate on April 21, 2016. Authorities at the Carver County Sheriff’s Office released the documents last week, days before the second anniversary of the singer’s passing, after declaring no criminal charges would be filed in relation to Prince’s death from an accidental drug overdose. Investigators determined there was no evidence to suggest he knowingly took powerful painkiller fentanyl, as it appeared he had been taking counterfeit Vicodin pills laced with the drug. He did not have a prescription for the medication. 

(AllHipHop News) The New York Police Department is investigating a shooting in Brooklyn last week, which they believe is connected to a feud between Tekashi 6ix9ine and Casanova. Both men, who are members of the Bloods street gang, have been at odds for months, trading insults and threats over social media. Last week in Brooklyn, two of Casanova’s associates were shot in Bed-Stuy, Brooklyn, during a video shoot. Cops say at least 10 shots were fired at the men, who were sent to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Police in Brooklyn are also busy investigating a separate shooting inside of the Barclay’s Center during the Adrien Broner/Jessie Vargas fight on Saturday (April 21).Investigators said an associate of rapper 6ix9ine is the main suspect in the shooting, which occurred during a run-in Casanova and his crew.

According to reports, cops believe an associate of rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine was the culprit, during a run-in with rival Brooklyn rapper, Casanova. Police say 6ix9ine and an entourage were heading to a VIP area inside of Barclays when they crossed paths with Casanova and his crew. A shoving match reportedly ensued and someone with 6ix9ine packing a .32 fired one gunshot inside of a confined area of The Barclay’s Center. Both men appeared to address the issue on social media. The Lose Yourself MC, real name Marshall Mathers, took to Twitter to share his achievement with fans, after marking the milestone on Friday. (AllHipHop News) Rapper Kevin Gates is seeking to have the terms of his probation loosened, according to recently filed court documents. Gates, real name Kevin Gilyard, was freed from an Illinois penitentiary in January, after serving nine months of a 30-month sentence for felony gun possession relating to an outstanding 2013 warrant. Now the rapper is seeking a restraining order against John R. Baldwin, the Director of the Illinois Department of Corrections, as well as Ned Shwartz, who is a parole officer for the Illinois Department of Corrections. Gates is suing because his requests to travel over the next several months has denied, even though he has complied with all of the terms of his probation and has been allowed to travel on two different occasions. He is no longer under house arrest, he doesn’t have to wear an ankle monitor and the rapper has completed anger management courses in Cook County, Illinois, where he is completing the sentence. The denial to travel could have a serious impact on Kevin Gates’ earnings, as well as his family life. According to the filing, Shwartz’ refusal to grant the rap star permission to travel will impact several major concerts, including the JMBLYA Festival and Rolling Loud in May, the BET Awards in June and the Common Ground Festival in Michigan. Gates, who was not a resident of Cook County, says the restrictions are interfering with him seeing his four children as well. “The decision to deny the Plaintiff’s request is arbitrary and irrational since there is no rational relationship or a reasonable necessity by the Department to deny him permission to leave,” the lawsuit reads. Kevin Gates is seeking a temporary restraining order and preliminary injunction prohibiting his parole officer from denying him permission to leave so he can perform and see his children.

The producer, whose credits include records for the main members of the Wu-Tang Clan, as well as affiliate groups like Killarmy, Sunz of Man, Killah Priest, Gravediggaz, and others. According to the producer, he has been cheated out of millions in royalties since he signed a lopsided agreement with the brothers back in 1993. “Plaintiff has never received an accounting statement nor any royalties under either the Production Agreement nor the Publishing Agreement, he has no idea what Recordings are being claimed by Defendants under the Production Agreement nor what Compositions are being claimed under the Publishing Agreement,” 4th Disciple claims in his lawsuit. “We reached out several times to RZA and his brother Mitchell, through their longtime attorney, and they refused to address the situation,” 4th Disciple’s lawyer Kevon Glickman told AllHipHop.com. 4th Disciple also claims he has never received accounting for any of his productions over the course of the last 25 years. “Its a shame that with all of the success of the Wu Franchise, it will take a lawsuit to force the Diggs brothers to face their contractual responsibilities,” his lawyer Kevon Glickman added. 4th Disciple is seeking a full accounting oaΩ, in addition to at least $500,000 in damages.

The six-part documentary series chronicles Kalief Browder’s time on Rikers Island. Browder wasted three years on Rikers Island – 800 of those days in solitary confinement – although he was never charged with a crime. ​ Browder, who was only 16-years-old at the time of his imprisonment for purportedly stealing a backpack, was stuck on Rikers Island because he couldn’t make the $10,000 bail. ​ Tragically, in June of 2015 Kalief Browder committed suicide.

Buck 50 Productions claim they oversaw the careers of members Prodigy and Havoc from 2010 until P died at the age of 42 in 2017. The company maintains they were owed $500,000 for unpaid work. Havoc, who still reps Mobb Deep after Prodigy’s choking death, wasn’t feeling the actions of his former management. “What kind of sicko sues his artist after he dies knowing that that man got kids,” Havoc fumed. “How his kids gonna eat? He’s taking food out his kids’ mouth. That’s some punk s##t.” According to Havoc, he is considering a counter lawsuit against Buck 50 Productions. “I ain’t worried about it, all my paperwork is in order and he was never my manager,” Havoc said.
