(AllHipHop News) Chicago Rapper Vic Mensa went to Palestine to shoot the video for his new single “We Could Be Free.” The rapper went to one of the most troubled regions in the world, where Palestinians and Israelis have been fighting over the disputed city of Jerusalem. The issue escalated earlier this month, when President Donald Trump moved the United States Embassy to Jerusalem. Vic Mensa, who shot the video for “We Could Be Free” prior to Trump’s decision, said his goal with the video was to show unity with oppressed people around the world. “I wanted to make a video to show solidarity with people struggling against oppression all over the world,” Vic Mensa explained. “I took scenes from the military occupation of a village I visited in Palestine and juxtaposed them with racial violence in America to show how similar our struggles are and imagine a world without division,” the rapper explained. (AllHipHop News) Music mogul Russell Simmons has denied allegations of sexual misconduct made by five women in the Los Angeles Times on Wednesday (December 13). The Def Jam Recordings co-founder recently stepped down from his companies after former model Keri Claussen Khalighi and screenwriter Jenny Lumet accused him of sexual assault in November. On Wednesday, the New York Times published accounts from four women, three of which accused Simmons of rape, while the Los Angeles Times published stories by five other women, who have accused him of sexual misconduct. Sherri Hines, also known as Sheri Sher, from hip-hop group Mercedes Ladies, alleged that Simmons raped her in his office around 1983, while Lisa Kirk said he followed her into the women’s restroom at a nightclub in New York around 1988, pushed her into a stall and began to take out his penis, but he ran out of the bathroom after she caught his eye. Actress Natashia Williams-Blach, who appeared in a Simmons-produced film, How to Be a Player, said Simmons tried to force her to perform oral sex on him after they went to a yoga class in 1996, massage therapist Erin Beattie alleged he exposed himself and asked her to touch his penis while she was giving him a massage in his hotel room, and “Insecure” actress Amanda Seales said he used vulgar language to ask if they ever had sex during a meeting in 2016. The music mogul has vehemently denied all the claims in the story in a statement, which reads, “These new stories range from the patently untrue to frivolous and hurtful claims… I want to restate categorically what I have said previously: I have never been violent or abusive to any women in any way at any time in my entire life.” He also posted a note on Instagram, which read, “I have never had a sexual encounter that was not consensual or lawful. Ever.” He shared his full statement, in which he said he was devastated by the claims which have “shocked me to my core.” “What I will not accept is responsibility for what I have not done,” he wrote. “I will relentlessly fight against any untruthful character assassination that paints me as a man of violence.”

The hitmaker sued his former pal after claiming the rapper struck a side deal with Epic Records that cut Rocko out of millions. Future countersued, insisting his deal with Rocko was never exclusive. But the Christmas spirit seems to have showered the “Mask Off” rapper with goodwill – the producer claims the legal battle is over and his old friend has agreed to pay up. Both sides have requested a dismissal of the case, according to TMZ, and the original plaintiff’s lawyers tell the outlet their client is happy with the “very successful result.” It is not clear what the settlement fee is, but Rocko was originally seeking $10 million.

(AllHipHop News) Two suspects have been arrested And charged with the murder of Coke Boys rapper, Chinx Drugz. Chinx, born Lionel Pickens, was just 31-years-old when he was gunned down in May of 2015, as he sat in a Porsche on Queens Boulevard. Earlier today (December 14), a 32-year-old man named Quincy Homere was arrested in New York and charged with Chinx’s murder. A second suspect named Jamar Hill, 26, was also arrested and charged with murder. Investigators say the beef started over a phone on Rikers Island, where both men were incarcerated. One of the men was a jealous an aspiring rapper, who decided to hunt “Chinx like an animal” over the dispute. The shooting also injured Coke Boys member Yemen Cheese, who was a passenger in the Porsche. In addition to one count of second degree murder each, both men face assault, criminal possession of a weapon and attempted second-degree murder charges. ​

Rapper Nelly’s rape case has been dropped. Washington State prosecutors claim they can’t proceed due to the alleged victim’s refusal to co-operate, according to TMZ. The 21-year-old woman, who claimed Nelly raped her on his tour bus in a car parking lot in October, initially told police she did not want to press charges against Nelly. The case was forwarded to the King County Prosecutor’s office in Washington for possible criminal charges last month after detectives at the Auburn Police Department concluded their investigation into the alleged sexual assault. Nelly was arrested days after the alleged incident and has been vocal in his defense. The “Hot in Herre” hitmaker insisted he was “completely innocent” of charges of second degree rape, stating: “Let me say that I am beyond shocked that I have been targeted with this false allegation… I am confident that once the facts are looked at, it will be very clear that I am the victim of a false allegation.” His lawyer Scott Rosenblum added, “Nelly is the victim of a completely fabricated allegation. Our initial investigation clearly establishes this allegation is devoid of credibility and is motivated by greed and vindictiveness. I am confident, once this scurrilous accusation is thoroughly investigated, there will be no charges. “Nelly is prepared to address and pursue all legal avenues to redress any damage caused by this clearly false allegation.”

(AllHipHop News) A man suspected of masterminding the recent burglaries at R. Kelly’s homes has turned himself in to police in Georgia. Authorities issued a warrant for one of the singer’s associates, Alfonso Walker, last week after he was named as the brains behind the incidents, which targeted two of Kelly’s properties in the Atlanta area over America’s Thanksgiving holiday in late November, while the star was on tour. Walker surrendered to cops at Johns Creek Police Department on Monday, and has since been booked on two counts of burglary, two charges of theft by taking, and a further two for theft by deception. Sources previously told TMZ three men had been caught leaving one of the houses in a van, and told police detectives they had been hired by Walker, who wanted them to sell everything because Kelly was moving his operation to Chicago, Illinois. Walker, who was just a part-time employee, was subsequently found in possession of some of Kelly’s furniture. Other items stolen include music memorabilia and clothing. Following Walker’s arrest, the “I Believe I Can Fly” hitmaker issued a statement via his representative, which reads: “Mr. Kelly thanks the Johns Creek Police Department for its swift and diligent work in arresting the responsible parties. The “Fate of the Furious” star is a father to three daughters, but he and wife Eudoxie are planning to add to their family in the hope of having a son. “My New Year’s resolution is to get a boy, believe it or not,” he told People magazine. “We’re going to try one more time. So all next year I’m going to be trying to get a boy.” Ludacris and Eudoxie welcomed their first daughter together in 2015 and she is “very much on board” with expanding their brood. However, the couple is keeping busy with their three kids for now. “The girls are doing good,” he said. “Cai has a birthday this weekend, and Karma is learning how to drive,” he added in the interview, which took place before Cai’s birthday celebration over the weekend. “She’ll have her driver’s license in two months!” And the rapper is nervous about having a daughter who is ready to get behind the wheel of a car. “(It) was (scary) at first,” he added. “We’ve been driving for the last couple of months because she actually turned 16 in August. (AllHipHop News) English rapper Dizzee Rascal faces a mammoth legal bill after losing a court battle over his failure to perform at a 2008 music festival. The 33-year-old musician, real name Dylan Mills, has been ordered by judges at Britain’s High Court to pay music promoter Daniel Blanche back the $30,700 fee he received for an unfulfilled gig at the 2008 Zoo8 festival, plus legal costs. According to Britain’s Daily Star newspaper, losing the case could cost Dizzee as much as $670,000. After the ruling, Blanche told the newspaper: “I’m absolutely delighted. For years artists have had it their own way and virtually done what they liked once they’ve received the promoter’s money.” Representatives for the “Bonkers” rapper did not respond to a request for comment. At an earlier hearing at Central London County Court in February, lawyers for the star claimed Blanche had promised to pay his full fee a month in advance of his performance, but Dizzee received the amount in two installments, with the final one only arriving on the day of the gig. His lawyers said that by then the rapper had already canceled plans to perform, and that the change in payment terms constituted a breach of contract. Blanche claimed there had been a “formal variation” in the contract to allow for payment in installments. Wildlife Music Events, the company Blanche set up to run the festival, held in a zoo in Kent, England, went into liquidation in 2009 after it was dubbed “the worst festival ever” by some attendees. Bieryonce, a beverarge made by Brooklyn, New York company Lineup Brewing, was released earlier this month, but its owner Katarina Martinez says only one batch will be sold as she has already received a legal threat telling her to stop using the name. “As a Hispanic, female run business, I am very inspired by her so I thought I’d pay homage,” Martinez tells Pitchfork Media. “We’re disappointed she didn’t take it as a compliment, but oh well. It was fun while it lasted!” According to the website, Martinez decided to brew the Bieryonce beer after missing one of the Formation singer’s concerts despite having tickets. Beyonce is notoriously protected of her brand, and is currently embroiled in a legal battle with bosses at a company called 47/72 Inc., who have filed an application to trademark the brand Poison Ivy Park. The 36-year-old musician’s legal team have filed an opposition to the application, claiming that Poison Ivy Park is too similar to her Ivy Park clothing brand, named in honor of her five-year-old daughter Blue Ivy.

There’s nothing bigger than (late Apple founder) Steve Jobs, but you to have the opportunity to try to be that big,” he told the BBC. “And if you try to be as big as Bill Gates and don’t succeed, you will be bigger than Michael Jackson – I guarantee you that. Now that I’m 40, I want to aim to be like the other Mike, (Dell Technologies founder) Michael Dell, I want to be like the other Stevie, not Stevie Wonder – Steve Jobs. “I want to change Will to Bill, I want to be like Bill Gates.” Will has explored science by sitting in on classes held at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and has a fascination with artificial intelligence. You just have to surround yourself with engineers and discipline future thinkers,” the 42-year-old added.

The rapper is embarking on the “Cold Summer Tour,” which is a six-week outing in support of his new studio album PRESSURE. Jeezy tapped rising rapper Tee Grizzley as his support act for the 31-date tour, which kicks off at the House of Blues in Anaheim, CA on February 7 and ends on March 23rd at Cain’s Ballroom in Tulsa, OK.
