Hip-Hop Rumors: Wiz Khalifa’s Next Album Title Inspired By Prodigy Of Mobb Deep!!

Following in the footsteps of Mobb Deep’s Prodigy, the self-proclaimed H.N.I.C., Wiz Khalifa is dubbing himself the O.N.I.F.C., which is also the title of his next album. What does O.N.I.F.C. mean? “Only N*gga In First Class.” In Wiz’s recent interview with Sway from MTV, he revealed that the album’s title was inspired by the Mobb Deep rapper’s first solo album, 2001’s H.N.I.C. (Head N*gga In Charge). Wiz stated that the album’s title comes from several incidents he was involved in with plane personnel while flying first class during his the enormously  successful 2011 that he had. “I’m just going to tell you it’s the Only N*gga In First Class. It’s inspired by Prodigy’s H.N.I.C. When he dropped that, I felt like that sounded so strong and it really meant something and it had the n-word in it. I wanted to figure out something [along those lines] that was me, too…I said it on one of my songs, like, ’Ain’t it funny when time pass?/Only n#### in first class,’ and I was just talking about me being a young, rich dude and being black.” While speaking on his “flying incidents” Wiz said, “It looks crazy when I walk up to them and I show them a ticket, or I’m going to priority seating and they’re like, ’You sure?’ It’s kind of like that feeling – it’s a good feeling, but it’s like it’s a bad feeling, like ’Damn, why y’all even feel like that about me?’ When I look around and I see people in first class and they’re getting they’re dinners a little quicker than mine or they’re looking at me or I don’t get the pillow or extra treatment – or I get more because they know that I’m supposed to be there, so it’s like the positives and the negatives.” Rumor has it that with this new-found “revelation,” Prodigy is looking to get Wiz on his next album, the appropriately titled H.N.I.C. 3, which is set to drop later this year.

AllHipHop.com Previews Footage From “The Amazing Spider-Man” In New York City

Earlier today, (February 6), Sony Pictures held a worldwide event in select cities that allowed fans and movie-goers an exclusive preview of the new trailer and footage from the director Marc Webb’s upcoming film,The Amazing Spider-Man. The event was the perfect opportunity for the film’s creators and Sony Pictures to build anticipation and gauge reactions to the footage from the very people who would be paying to see the film when it hits theaters later this year. The preview event, dubbed “The Untold Story,” began with the The Amazing Spider-Man’s new theatrical trailer, which debuts via an online premiere tonight. The trailer looks great and showcases a large amount of the film’s action as well as the the transformations that both Peter Parker and the film’s villain, Dr. Curt Conners, experience throughout the film. The highly anticipated sizzle reel was next. A description of some of the scenes that the audience was shown is below: Peter Parker gets bullied in school, gets some revenge, and has to be picked up by his Uncle Ben who’s played by Martin Sheen. We then get to see him and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy share some awkward dialogue as he asks her out. We then meet the film’s villain, Dr. Curt Conners, played by Rhys Iffans, in a lab working on experiments to get his arm back. Parker than finds a room at the lab filled with elaborate webs and glowing spiders. Of course, he gets bitten. He then begins to test his powers, after waking up one morning, smashing his alarm clock, and finding himself to be super-strong. This leads to a montage of him accidentally breaking stuff and swinging throughout the city. We get to see brief shots of Parker building his web-shooters, just like in the comics, and then testing them very humorously on a car thief. Next, there was a great scene where Spider-Man is caught by the police, gets unmasked, and proceeds to beat down a large group of officers in a very spider-like way. They never actually get to see his face. Several clips of the Lizard ripping at innocent people, Spidey, and nearby cars and attempting to flip them over is shown. Throughout the reel, it’s hard to get a real good look at the Lizard’s face, although you can make out his large, green, scaly body multiple times. A battle on the Manhattan Bridge follows and Spidey fights back while managing to save all of the cars the Lizard threw off the bridge. One of the last scenes has Parker dressed as Spider-Man outrunning a collapsing building in what looks to be one the central set pieces for the film. Overall, the footage looked amazing, and it appears that a lot of the backlash from some fans for rebooting this franchise so soon will be silenced once the film is released on July 3. Sony Pictures will be debuting the new action-packed theatrical trailer at midnight online. In the meantime, check out the previously released trailer below: [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BFPUTwhP5a8]

I’m not saying that I wouldn’t do it, but it’s gotta be something that makes sense for me.” When asked about any formal offers or an “extending of the hand”, Mannie said: “I can’t really say if [there was]. John Legend and Kennedy Center Pay Tribute to Marvin Gaye with New Program

Billboard is reporting that nine-time Grammy Award-winner John Legend surprised students at the Kennedy Center on Tuesday to shed light on his plans to start a Marvin Gaye-inspired program that encourages young artists to face social issues head-on through art. The idea comes from the late Marvin Gayes’ hit song “What’s Going On?”, and to commemorate the 40th anniversary of his death, they ask “What’s Going On… Now?” Legend entered the rehearsal room of the high school choir at the Duke Ellington High School of the Arts. “You sound good… Can I play with you?”, Legend asked as he sat next to a student on the piano bench and the entire room filled with admiration. One of Gaye’s most memorable Motown albums tackled issues including drug addiction, war, and poverty. Gaye performed the entire album in 1972 at the Kennedy Center – which was his first live performance in two years since the death of singer and friend, Tammi Terrell. Seventeen-year-old India Reynolds, a member of the Duke Ellington choir, said “If ‘What’s Going On’ came out yesterday, it still would have been a hit.” That statement holds true, as Legend and the choir sang, everyone knew every word as if the song was a newly released pop song on the radio. Legend stressed that his parents were big fans of Gaye’s tunes, which in turn, made him a part of his childhood. “Music right now… especially in hip hop, no one really wants to talk about poverty,” he told The Associated Press. “And if people did make (such music), would the audience respond in a way that would encourage more people to make it?” Darrell Ayers, the Kennedy Center’s vice president for education, stressed the importance of the arts as a way for students “to realize the impact the arts can have, not just to make you feel good but to make people think about things.” Students are encouraged to upload videos, photos, music, poems, or any recordings of creative expression to the project’s website. Two participants will win a free trip to Washington for the concert, and to perform with Legend and others. The project will culminate in two concerts at the Kennedy Center on May 3-4 with the National Symphony Orchestra.
