FLICKS: Warner Music Group’s BET Awards After-Party

Following Sunday night’s much talked about 2012 BET Awards, Warner Music Group hosted a star-packed after-party event at Cecconi’s in Los Angeles. The party, which was presented by Coke Zero, Smart Water, and Crown Royal Black, included all sorts of guest appearances, such as Diggy Simmons, Jahlil Beats, Rick Ross, Stalley, Trey Songz, TGT (Tank, Ginuwine, Tyrese), Brandy, Common, and many more. A$AP Rocky Clarifies September Release Date For “LongLiveA$AP” Album

(AllHipHop News) Despite reports that A$AP Rocky’s RCA/Polo Grounds debut, LoveLiveA$AP, would be released on September 11, the Harlem native clarified at a recent event in Washington D.C. that the previously mentioned date is not correct. While talking to The Source during the event’s “red carpet” Rocky clarified, “It’s not September 11; I was joking on the radio.” “I was playing. It is September, though,” he continued. “The thing is, I do what I want and that’s it but personally I’m not going to rush.” When asked if he had another date in mind Rocky responded, “Not a precise one but I’m looking at the 20th to the 23rd.” In addition to clarifying the LoveLiveA$AP release date, Rocky spoke on having both Kendrick Lamar and Lana Del Ray on the project, his upcoming documentary, and his top five female emcee’s at the moment. Cee-Lo Cast In New Film “Can A Song Save Your Life?”; Production Begins Next Week In New York

(AllHipHop News) Variety reports that Voice judge and Grammy Award-winning singer and rapper Cee-Lo has been cast in director John Carney’s new musical drama, Can A Song Save Your Life? Cee-Lo will play the role of Troublegum, a well-known and very successful Hip-Hop star, a familiar notion for the Gnarls Barkley and Goodie Mob member. The film, produced by Exclusive Media, also stars fellow The Voice judge, Adam Levine (Maroon 5), Keira Knightley (Pirate of the Caribbean), Mark Ruffalo (The Avengers), Hailee Steinfeld (True Grit), and Catherine Keener (40 Year Old Virgin). Production on Can A Song Save Your Life? is set to begin next week in New York City. Currently, Cee-Lo is working with Goodie Mob on the group’s forthcoming, fifth studio album, Age Against the Machine and despite earlier complaints about the show, he will return as a judge on the third season of NBC’s####, singing competition, “The Voice”, this fall. He will also call Las Vegas home for the next few months during his Planet Hollywood residency of Cee-Lo Green Presents “Loberace.”

T.I. Has Over 125 Tracks Recorded For New Album “Trouble Man”

(AllHipHop News) Following his much-talked about performance during Atlanta’s Birthday Bash 17 last week, rapper T.I. called into Hot 107.9 and spoke with DJ Sense about the concert and spilled some details on his upcoming eigth studio album, Trouble Man. Before speaking on the album, Tip premiered the T-Minus-produced, first single, “Go Get It,” on Sense’s Atlanta radio show. Shortly after the song was played, Sense asked T.I. about the September release date he promised at the beginning of May, when he told Angie Martinez of New York’s Hot 97 that Trouble Man would drop a day after the second season of his VH1 show “T.I. and Tiny’s Family Hustle” premieres. Tip told Sense, “Man, we coming in September, but we still cooking though. I still got something else up my sleeve coming real soon.” Moments later he dropped the news that he has recorded over 100 songs for Trouble Man. “I got 125 records, man,” he told DJ Sense. “I’m sitting on it.” Listen to the entire interview at HotSpotAtl. First Promo Image From RZA’s Directorial Debut “The Man With the Iron Fists” Released

(AllHipHop News) The first promotional shot from producer, rapper, and actor RZA’s directorial debut, The Man With the Iron Fists, has hit the net. RZA revealed the image from his Kung-Fu flick late last night (June 27). He tweeted, “Giving u 1st look at snapshot of my trailer ‘Iron Fist’ comin n 2 days.” The Man With the Iron Fists was co-written by RZA and Hostel and Cabin Fever director, Eli Roth. The $20 million production, which was filmed on-location in China at the beginning of last year, has a highly-respected cast in Russell Crowe, Lucy Liu, Jamie Chung, Pam Grier, Dave Batista, RZA, and a number of high-profile martial arts stars from Asia like Chia Hui Liu, Rick Yune, Ka-Yan Leung, and Kuan Tai Chen. Produced by Quentin Tarantino and Eli Roth, The Man With the Iron Fists stars RZA as blacksmith who is tasked with defending his village in feudal China. A theatrical trailer for The Man With the Iron Fists, which is being produced by Roth and Academy Award-winning director Quentin Tarantino, is expected to be released later this week. This will be RZA and Crowe’s third film collaboration, following the release of 2007’s American Gangster and 2010’s The Next Three Days. RZA will next be seen as Blind Master in G.I. Joe: Retaliation, and is also rumored to have an unspecified role in Tarantino’s Django Unchained, which will be released on Christmas Day. Yelawolf Announces “Slumerican Tour” With Rittz, Trouble Andrew and DJ Vajra

(AllHipHop News) Shady Records recording artist and Alabama native Yelawolf has announced details for his upcoming 50-date “Slumerican Tour.” The “Slumerican Tour” will feature Yelawolf as the headliner with support coming from the likes of Rittz, Trouble Andrew and DJ Vajra as openers. Beginning on September 13 in Huntsville, Alabama, Yelawolf and tourmates will hit cities such as Jacksonville, Memphis, New Orleans, Brooklyn, Las Vegas, Nashville, and more, before wrapping the tour up on November 17 in Atlanta, Georgia. Yelawolf released his Shady Records debut, Radioactive, last November, and is already in the process of finishing up his second label project, Love Story, currently set for release at the top of next year. Before Love Story drops, however, Yelawolf will release the Psycho White EP with drummer and producer Travis Barker.
