Jermaine Dupri Debuts Internet Sensation, R&B Crooner Brandon Hines

Someone’s got their eyes focused on the internet, having started his own social network and even discovering talented singers via YouTube (Dondria), super producer Jermaine Dupri is now bringing internet sensation Brandon Hines to the spotlight. Does he stand above the rest? You bet. Hines appeared on the scene in 2006 with his independent debut Love Music: Fallin in Fallin Out, and then continued to post webcam YouTube videos of himself doing covers. It was in 2009 when Hines posted his cover to Maxwell’s Grammy-award winning hit “Pretty Wings”, that it caught the attention of the world, earning over one million views on YouTube. In 2010, Brandon released his second mixtape In Search Of, and the project received over 500,000 downloads. He opened up for Estelle, and toured with John Legend, and now is signed to Durpi’s label, So So Def Records. “Awkward Black Girl” Star Issa Rae Tours Country On a Quest for Success

If you have access to YouTube, then you’ve definitely heard of “The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl”, a series created by Stanford graduate, Issa Rae. The series follows J, played by Rae, who often finds herself in awkward situations involving men, her co-workers, and all types of uncomfortable situations young people experience. In the series, she finds solace in her love interest, White Jay, who’s almost as awkward as her. In a recent interview, Issa revealed that the show has allowed her to travel across the country. John Legend & Ludacris Team Up for the First Time on “Tonight”

Looks like Rainforest Films’ Think Like A Man has the most star-powered film soundtrack in recent memory. Last week, it was Jennifer Hudson and Ne-Yo’s title track. This week, Grammy-award winners John Legend and Ludacris team up for “Tonight (Best You Ever Had)”. In the video, Legend sings into the camera, insisting that will be “the best you’ve ever had,” and the visual also features scenes from the film’s stars, Taraji P. Henson and Michael Ealy. Frank Ocean & Rita Ora To Tour With Coldplay

Odd Future member Frank Ocean and Roc Nation newbie Rita Ora are scheduled to join Alternative Rock group Coldplay on the Europe leg of their stadium tour. From May to September, the two will be playing with the band across the continent. Frank Ocean will join Marina and the Diamonds on Coldplay’s Copenhagen dates, starting on August 28 and finishing up in Hanover on September 22. Ora will play with the band from May 29 to June 10. Ora recently visited Z100 with her boss Jay-Z to premiere “How We Do (Party)”, the debut and lead single from her upcoming studio album. Source
