(AllHipHop News) Recently, Willie D, one-third of the classic collective, Geto Boys, exclusively spoke with AllHipHop regarding his thoughts on the historic relationship between America’s people of color and its law enforcement agencies. The legendary lyricist refused to mince words and stated, “First of all, law enforcement in America is an oxymoron. That doesn’t even make sense. They are not enforcing the law. What they do is they enforce prejudice.”
As he continued to express his beliefs, he then shared, “They enforce racism and stereotypes; that’s what they enforce. They enforce division and separatism. That’s what they enforce; they enforce hate.” He soon suggested that America’s melanin-enriched people are just being appeased by a façade of equality. “The laws that they actually have on the books are just to pacify us and make us feel good—make us feel like we’re special, and make us feel like our government cares about us—make us feel like equality exists; but, it really doesn’t,” he challenged.
“It’s just like a big ass pacifier to make us feel good. People keep asking, ‘When is everybody going to be treated fairly and equally?’ So, we pray and we march, and we pray and we march. We throw a couple of rocks and then we pray, and we march,” replied the insightful entrepreneur. Willie D ended his commentary with, “Then we pray and we march – and all the while—they’re sitting back and they’re laughing their a#### off. The more you pray and the more you march the stronger the opposition gets – the stronger the oppressor gets—and the bolder and the more brazen he becomes.”
