$15 Million Lawsuit Against Will Smith and Black-ish Dropped

LAWSUIT DROPPED!!!

(AllHipHop News) A lawsuit filed against Will Smith over hit show “Black-ish” has reportedly been dropped.

David Marcus sued the star, Black-ish creator Kenya Barris, and bosses at ABC Studios for $15 million earlier this year, claiming they stole the idea for the show from him.

Marcus alleged he submitted a comedy script, titled “Across The Tracks,” for a contest Smith was running in 2013.

Marcus claimed he never heard back from the actor about the script, and was stunned when he first heard about the premise for “Black-ish,” which appeared to be based on his idea.

According to reports, Marcus was seeking $15 million and an injunction to pull the series, starring Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross, off air unless he was given credit as the creator.

Smith hit back at the allegations and was seeking a dismissal.

Last week documents were reportedly filed indicating Marcus had agreed to drop the lawsuit against Smith and the case was closed.
