AHH Stray News: Jay-Z on SNL, New MC Eiht, Drake Wins At Juno’s

(AllHipHop News) Grammy Award winning rapper Jay-Z will make his third appearance on NBC’s Saturday Night Live this May. Jay-Z will join Betty White as a musical guest on the May 8th show. Jay-Z’s appearance will come during SNL’s special Mother’s Day episode, which will reunite six former female cast members. Those returning include Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer, Rachel Dratch and Sarah Palin look-a-like, Tina Fey. Compton, California rapper MC Eiht will drop his brand new mixtape All Starz & Strapz Vol. 2 later this week. The first two singles from the mixtape are titled “Wait a Minute” and “West Up 2010.” Both singles and the new mixtape serve as a teaser to MC Eiht’s highly anticipated collaboration with DJ Premier. The pair are putting the finishing touches on their album Which Way Iz West, which is scheduled to be released sometime this Summer.Canadian rapper Drake won multiple Juno Awards last night (April 18th) at the Mile One Center in St. John, Canada. The rapper took home awards for Recording of the Year (“So Far Gone”) and Artist of the Year. “We’ve seen some special people rise up [from Canada] this year and I’m proud to be one of them,” said Drake, who also performed with teen sensation Justin Bieber, whom he beat in the Artist of the Year category.  Other winners during the evening included K‘Naan, Amelia Curran, Metric and the night’s biggest winner, Michael Buble, who took home four Juno Awards. Drake is preparing to release his debut album Thank Me Later, which arrives in stores in the U.S. on June 15th.
