DaBaby Pays Tribute To His Late Brother With ‘My Brother’s Keeper (Long Live G)’ Project

“From Baby Bruh to you.”

DaBaby (born Jonathan Lyndale Kirk) lost his older brother, Glenn Johnson, who died at the age of 34 on November 3. Johnson committed suicide in their hometown of Charlotte.

As DaBaby continues to mourn, the 28-year-old spitter honored his late sibling with a new music project. The surprise My Brother’s Keeper (Long Live G) EP landed overnight.

My Brother’s Keeper includes features by Meek Mill, Polo G, No Cap, and Toosii. The 7-track release comes after DaBaby dropped his Blame It on Baby studio album in April.

2020 has been an up-and-down year for DaBaby. Some of the highlights include Blame It on Baby hitting #1 on the Billboard 200 chart and the “Rockstar” single featuring Roddy Ricch spending seven nonconsecutive weeks atop Billboard‘s Hot 100 chart.

DaBaby also found success over the last several months at industry award shows. The North Carolinian won a BET Award for Best Male Hip Hop Artist and picked up three ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards.
