Drake & Nicki Minaj Use Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” To Spark Rumors Of Reconciliation

Are the “Moment 4 Life” and “Make Me Proud” collaborators ready to reunite on a record?

It’s still not exactly clear where Drake and Nicki Minaj’s friendship stands at the moment. The two Hip Hop superstars came up together under Lil Wayne’s successful Young Money imprint and work together numerous times. However, Drizzy acknowledged on 2013’s “Tuscan Leather” that a private rift did take place.

Then there were allegations the highly-publicized 2015/2016 feud between Drake and Minaj’s then-boyfriend Meek Mill played a big part in the YMCMB rappers falling out even further. Minaj reconciled with Drake in 2017 after she broke up with Meek, but she later threw subliminal shots at both men on the 2019 song “Barbie Going Bad” which was an unofficial remix to Meek’s “Going Bad” featuring Drake.

Today, Nicki showed up on the official remix to Sada Baby’s “Whole Lotta Choppas.” Her verse included the brand new mother rapping, “To be honest, I hope one day we do a playdate with Adonis.” That bar refers to Drake’s 3-year-old son with former model Sophie Brussaux.

The “Whole Lotta Choppas (Remix)” and Nicki Minaj then got a shout out from Drake. The OVO frontman posted about the track on his Instagram Story. He added a caption that read, “[Playdates] soon come [White Heart emoji] @nickiminaj.” Champagne Papi’s mention of his collaborator-turned-frenemy on IG instantly sparked rumors that the two performers could soon reunite on a record.
