Florida Promoters Sue Lil’ Wayne Over Missed Concert

Rapper Lil’ Wayne has been hit with a lawsuit by a Tampa Bay based promotions company, claiming the rapper missed a concert date and has refused to reschedule the performance. The Associated Press reports that the lawsuit was filed Friday (Jan. 19) in Miami-Dade County Circuit Court. According to the lawsuit, Lil’ Wayne, 24, signed a contract with Nunoise Entertainment and Jahfari Promotions to at a Tampa nightclub last October. The rapper missed the event and returned a $15,000 deposit, but the companies claim the rapper still owes $45,000 for canceling the show and is obligated to schedule another performance. The lawsuit also alleges that promoters lost more than $200,000 due to Lil’ Wayne’s cancellation of the show. Representatives for Lil’ Wayne were not available to comment as of press time.
