As a result of a clash with a radio personality from a rival station, a New York judge issued a restraining order against Funkmaster Flex on Wednesday. Flex, a Hot 97 DJ/radio personality, has also been charged with third degree assault and harassmentboth misdemeanors. The restraining order and charges stem from a confrontation Flex had with Steph Lova, a Power 105 radio personality, outside of the Hot 97 offices. Flex allegedly smacked, punched and choked her and called her an ungrateful b####. After the incident, Flex supposedly tossed a wad of cash toward Lova as a type of compensation for her pain and suffering. Published reports have chronicled Flexs rage at Lova ever since she conducted an on-air interview with Nas, where the Queensbridge emcee claimed Flex was accepting money for increased radio spins and he urged listeners to snatch the DJs chain on sight. Steph Lova has filed a civil suit against Flex for an undisclosed amount. Under the guidelines of the restraining order issued by the judge, Flex, real name Aston Taylor, is not to have any contact with Lova, either by phone, fax, in person or via any party. Flex, 35, nor his lawyer commented on the situation, since the DJ willingly turned himself in to NYPD.
