Hip-Hop Pioneers Kool Herc, Grandmaster Caz and Coke La Rock Celebrate Birth Of Hip-Hop’s Renovation

HIP-HOP’S BIRTHPLACE GETS A MUCH NEEDED FACELIFT!

(AllHipHop News) Pioneering Hip-Hop legends DJ Kool Herc, Grandmaster Caz and Coke La Rock attended a ceremony at the Cedar Playground, where each one helped launch the genre of Hip-Hop music into popular culture.

With the help of his sister Cynthia Campbell, Kool Herc used to DJ in the summers in Cedar Park in the Bronx, which is down the street from 1520 Sedgwick Avenue, where Herc hosted his first party on August 11th, 1973.

The park and the building are renovated thanks to a new $2.4 million investment secured by Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. and the City Council.
