Joe Rogan Cancels Kanye West Podcast Appearance After Show Producer Tests Positive For COVID-19

Fans will have to wait to see the influential entertainers discuss music, politics, and more.

Hip Hop superstar Kanye West was expected to be a guest on The Joe Rogan Experience podcast this week after he teased the sitdown on social media. On October 17, the billionaire mogul tweeted, “Joe Rogan said it’s cool for me to design the set for our podcast this Friday.”

However, that highly-anticipated conversation between the podcaster/comedian and the longshot presidential hopeful, which was apparently set to take place on October 23, was put on hold. Rogan revealed that he had to cancel all of his shows scheduled for this week because a member of his team caught COVID-19.

Rogan wrote on Instagram:

All podcasts are cancelled this week. Young @jamievernon tested positive for COVID-19. I tested negative, and the rest of the staff tested negative but we’re shutting everything down until we get an all clear from our doctor. I was out of town last week and the shows that aired had all been previously recorded, so I haven’t had any contact with Jamie in the past 9 days except for briefly today, but I’m staying away from everyone and being tested every day until I know I’m in the clear. I’ll keep you folks posted as to when the show will resume.

West and Rogan have been discussing a possible interview for several years. Back in 2018, the JRE host tweeted that he would be “happy to talk” to Kanye about the topic of mental health. Earlier this month, Ye mentioned Rogan on Twitter in order to hopefully set up a live podcast involving the two entertainers.
