(AllHipHop News) Rapper Juelz Santana has entered not guilty pleas for gun and drug possession charges following an incident at a New Jersey airport last week.

Juelz, real name LaRon James, became a wanted man after fleeing from Newark International Airport on March 9, when a loaded firearm was allegedly discovered in his bag, beside his ID card, at a Transportation Security Administration (TSA) checkpoint.

He surrendered to cops at the Port Authority Police Department in the early hours of Monday (March 12) and was booked for possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and carrying a weapon on an aircraft, both of which carry a 10-year maximum sentence.

Santana, 36, was also booked for unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of drugs, and on an unspecified federal warrant.

He appeared before a state judge in Newark on Wednesday (March 14) when he pleaded his innocence to two of the weapons charges and the drug count, which relates to the alleged discovery of oxycodone painkillers, which he didn’t have a prescription for, in his luggage.

Santana, who has been remanded in custody, is next due in court on April 9th.
