Kendrick Lamar Scores Highest-Debuting Rap Song On Hot 100 In 7 Years With “Humble”

THE TDE EMCEE SCORES HIS HIGHEST HIT AS A LEAD ARTIST

(AllHipHop News) Kendrick Lamar’s latest single “Humble” may have been hit with backlash from some women, but that did not stop the track from having a huge debut on the Hot 100.

As Billboard reports, “Humble” lands on the chart at the #2 position, behind Ed Sheeran’s smash record “Shape of You.”

By opening up in the runner-up spot, Kendrick has the highest Hot 100 debut for a rapper since 2010.

In that year, Eminem’s “Love the Way You Lie” featuring Rihanna started at #2 on the chart.

“Humble” is the TDE emcee’s fourth top 10 hit and his first as a lead artist.

His other Top 10ers are A$AP Rocky’s “F-ckin’ Problems” (8), Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” (1), and Maroon 5’s “Don’t Wanna Know” (6).

“Humble” also hit #1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Hot Rap Songs, Streaming Songs, On-Demand Streaming Songs, and Digital Song Sales charts.
