Killer Mike Talks Kendrick Lamar Mentioning Him On 'To Pimp A Butterfly' (VIDEO)

FIND OUT HOW KILLER MIKE REACTED TO KENDRICK LAMAR MENTIONING HIM ON THE ‘TPAB’ TRACK “HOOD POLITICS”

Nestled in between Kendrick Lamar’s To Pimp A Butterfly lyrics of black empowerment and self realization was a shout out to fellow emcee Killer Mike. On the track “Hood Politics” he rapped “Critics want to mention that they miss when hip hop was rappin’/Motherf—-r, if you did, then Killer Mike’d be platinum.”

When Killer Mike heard of K. Dot’s praises, he says he was honored yet surprised.

“I felt like when a professional ball player compliments another professional ball player,” Mike told MTV. “That is a compliment no one can truly understand how dope that is, unless you’re a ball player. For me, it was an honor.”

He also says that he had no clue that the Compton spitter was a fan of his.

“I didn’t know he listened to me,” Mike says, surprised. “I suspected maybe he did. I’m glad it was confirmed in such a huge way. I just want to thank him. I just like what they’re doing. I just like him.”
