TIDAL IS OFFERING A FREE BROADCAST OF THE CHARITY EVENT

(AllHipHop News) The 13th annual Black Ball presented by Keep A Child Alive is taking place tonight (October 19) at New York City’s Manhattan Center/Hammerstein Ballroom.

This year’s event will stream live via the Tidal platform. Alicia Keys, A$AP Rocky, Chance The Rapper, Salt-N-Pepa, and Patti Smith are scheduled to perform.

“We have an electric lineup of performers both legends and newcomers this year and I know the energy in the room is going to be ALIVE,” states Keys, co-founder of KCA. “I’m so excited for Black Ball to livestream on Tidal, giving so many people the chance to join in the fight against AIDS, and experience this truly magical night where all my worlds come together!”

Clive Davis will receive a Humanitarian Award for his efforts to counteract the AIDS epidemic.

The legendary music executive released the 1985 song That’s What Friends Are For which raised money for the American Foundation for AIDS Research and helped educate people about the disease.

Founded in 2003 by AIDS activist Leigh Blake and Grammy winner Alicia Keys, Keep A Child Alive launched as an emergency push to get life-saving HIV medications to African children and families.

The organization’s yearly Black Ball has raised over $28.7 million for people affected by HIV.

Tidal members and non-members can stream Keep A Child Alive’s Black Ball beginning at 9:15 pm ET.
