(AllHipHop News) A U.S. judge has given incarcerated rapper Meek Mill new hope for a possible release after ordering key documents in his probation violation case be made public.
The rap star was sentenced to two-to-four years behind bars in November, for violating his probation relating to a 2008 drug and gun bust.
His lawyers are appealing the harsh punishment, claiming trial judge Genece Brinkley was biased and handed him prison time after the rapper laughed off her request for a shout-out in a song.
Meek also snubbed her suggestion to dump his management team at Jay-Zs Roc Nation firm and sign with Philadelphia music figure Charlie Mack.
Mack, who previously worked with Meek early on in his career, has denied any links to Brinkley.
According to lawyers, the discussion with Brinkley is said to have taken place in chambers, and was on the record.
Now another judge has granted the release of the transcript to determine if Brinkley did show inappropriate judicial conduct, as alleged by Meek’s lawyer, Joe Tacopina.
If the claims are proven, it could pave the way for Meek to have his probation violation sentence overturned.
