(AllHipHop News) Meek Mill’s lawyers are seeking to have a wrongful death lawsuit against the jailed rapper dismissed.

The families of Jaquan Graves and Travis Ward, who were fatally wounded during a shooting incident outside the hip-hop star’s gig at Connecticut’s Oakdale Musical Theater in December 2016, have started legal proceedings against Meek, real name Robert Rihmeek Williams, and his management company, Jay-Z’s firm Roc Nation.

Lawyers for Graves’ family previously stated the rapper and his managers failed to provide adequate security, despite violence at Meek’s past concerts.

Meek Mill’s lawyers have now responded to the suit and they are asking for it to be thrown out because their client did not cause Graves’ death.

They also argue he had no way of knowing the shooting would occur.

The case is ongoing.

Meek is currently in prison in Pennsylvania, where he is serving a two-to-four-year sentence for probation violations relating to a 2008 drugs and weapons case.
