DR. DRE AND ICE CUBE SIT DOWN WITH THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER

N.W.A is not only preparing for the release of their biopic, Straight Outta Compton, but they may also be gearing up to head back out on the road. “We don’t have anything settled yet with everyone’s schedules,”Langley said. “But we think it can create a lot of buzz.”

Eminem would fill in for Eazy-E, who died of AIDS in 1995.

Dr. Dre and Ice Cube weighed in on the controversy surrounding Suge Knight, who is currently being charged with murder regarding an incident that happened while filming the commercial for Straight Outta Compton.

“I was there,” Dre said. “But I was just leaving, so I didn’t know what happened until I was halfway home. I heard about it over the phone. Everybody was supportive everywhere we went, and we didn’t have one issue throughout the entire filming of the movie. It’s crazy that this happened during the f—ing filming of the commercial.” He continued, “It’s just a really unfortunate incident. Maybe [Knight] was looking for trouble. I don’t know.”

Cube said that the whole incident shows how volatile life can be living in Los Angeles.

“It’s the dangerous part of living in South Central,” he said. “Some people don’t care if you’re making a movie or not. It’s unfortunate because the movie is so good, so creative, so many talented people involved.”

Ice Cube also discussed how N.W.A’s music is still relevant today when discussing race relations between the African American community and the police.

“It shows that we were not only ahead of our time, but right on time,” the Ride Along star told The Hollywood Reporter. “It’s a constant situation between the powers that be and the neighborhoods we’ve come from.
