Queen Latifah will be honored with a key to the city of Secaucus, New Jersey tonight (July 14), for her ongoing support and activism in the state of New Jersey. Latifah will be presented with the key by Mayor Dennis Elwell during a special, free mini-concert at a Secaucus area Wal-Mart, where she will perform some of her latest songs. The concert will introduce local women who are at-risk, to a new awards project aimed at raising self-confidence among women. The awards are sponsored by Curvation, a lingerie company for “curvaceous” women. Five finalists will receive $2,000 grants that will go towards community projects the finalists are involved in, while one lucky grand prize winner will be awarded a $10,000 grant. A luncheon to select the finalists and grand prize winner will take place next year. Interested women can log on to www.curvation.com or call 800-505-2378 to nominate a woman candidate for the awards. The concert starts at 6:30 pm in the Wal-Mart parking lot located at 400 Park Place, Secaucus, New Jersey.
