Mack 10 And Fat Joe: Long Lost Brothers

Mack 10 and Fat Joe are the latest Hip-Hop heads to become actors in the newest straight to video flick (which is becoming the thang amongst Hip-Hoppers), Thicker Than Water, which is due out early next year. The shooting starts next week on location in LA. The story line is about two cats who don’t know they are brothers, meet up, and begin hustling people. The movie will be released by Hoo Bangin/Priority Films, and a soundtrack that will include tracks by Big Pun, Fat Joe and Mack 10 among others will be released with it. Other rappers to do the straight to video thing are of course, Master P, Jay-Z, upcoming s### from E-40, Mack 10, and a new one coming up from Peter Gunz and Lord Tariq.

Dirty Leaves Hospital

ODB left the hospital last week after being treated a superficial gun shot wound. Ol Dirty, one of the founders and member of The Wu-Tang Clan, was wounded Tuesday when two men barged into his girls apartment and shot him. The rapper, whose real name is Russell Jones, was in stable condition at Interfaith Medical Center’s intensive care unit, said hospital spokesman Lars Larmon. ODB walked into the hospital’s emergency department after the 5:30 p.m. shooting at the Brooklyn apartment, and left against the hospitals advice, whom wanted to keep him overnight to make sure everything was alright.

Rza Signs Deal With Red Ant

The RZA has signed an exclusive production and distribution agreement with Red Ant Records, to distribute the superstar producer/label CEO’s latest label. This one, Threat Records is co-owned with the RZA by manager/promoter Cath Jones. The first release off the label is the highly anticpated Sunz Of Man LP, The Last Shall Be The First.Red Ant Entertainment has signed an exclusive production and distribution agreement with Threat Records, the label formed in 1997 by Wu-Tang Clan member RZA and manager/concert promoter Cathy Jones. Add this to the entrepenuers holdings that include Wu-Tang Records, which is handled by Priority, Razor Sharp, which is handled by Epic, and numerous Wu-Wear stores, and Wu-Nails.

Eightball Debuts Strong

Eightball hit number 2 on the Billboard Rap charts last week, with his release Lost. The album is already certified Platinum (1,000,000 sold) and is a Triple CD. The release is on Tony Draper’s Suave House Records, based out of Houston Texas. Lost has guest appearances by Master P, Mystikal, Redman, Busta Rhymes and Too $hort. The next single from the album is My Homeboy’s Girlfriend, and it features Supermodel, Tyson Beckford, who loses his girl to Eightball (yeah right..haah).
