Princeton University Students Petition Against Big Sean

Some Students Tell Big Sean “IDFWU”

A segment of the student population at Princeton are trying to stop Big Sean from performing on the campus this spring, charging that the Roc Nation rapper is a misogynist.

Students Rebecca Basaldua and Duncan Hosie are attempting to convince their student government to dump the rapper for their bi-annual Lawn Parties celebration. Thus far, 500 students have signed the online petition.

“After I saw that video, I started researching Big Sean’s language and I found language that was both misogynistic and homophobic. We wrote an op-ed piece that we published on Google Docs [on Sunday] and wanted to see the number of supporters,” Hosie said to The Daily Princetonian.

It maybe too late though, as the contracts are already signed.

“The contracts are signed and it’s unrealistic to stop this from happening,” said Simon Wu, Social committee chair.

Lawn Parties is set for April 17.
