Steph Lova Files Civil Suit Against Funkmaster Flex

Stephanie "Steph Lova" Saunders has officially filed a lawsuit against Aston "Funkmaster Flex," in connection with his alleged assault of her in front of Hot 97’s New York offices. "I would like to take this opportunity to express my appreciation for the overwhelming support I have received from fans, my colleagues at Power 105.1 clear channel radio New York, and my numerous friends and artists throughout the music industry," Saunders told AllHipHop.com in a statement. In the statement Saunders made it clear that the events that occurred Thursday, September 19 were not because of any rivalry that exists between new stations Power 105.1 and WQHT Hot 97. "This unfortunate characterization should not and cannot obscure the fact that the events which transpired stem from the decision of Mr.Aston Taylor to place his hands on my person in a harmful and offensive manner," she said in reference to Flex allegedly smacking, punching and choking Lova. Flex then tossed a wad of money at Lova, implying that he could pay any damages Lova sustained as a result of the assault. "Although there have been several misstatements of fact articulated by certain members of the media and WQHT, my attorneys have instructed me that it would be inappropriate at this time to provide any further comment with respect to the civil lawsuit that I have filed in the state supreme court of New York."
