(AllHipHop News) SZA has been teasing the music video for her popular song “The Weekend” for a while. Visuals for the Ctrl track are now available via YouTube.
Fellow R&B singer Solange Knowles directed the video. SZA spoke to MTV about creating the clip.
“We both have tastes, but it expresses in different ways. Her expression of shapes, her usage of color, and her filling of negative space, it’s very abstract,” stated the TDE artist about working with Solange. “I’m a very whimsical person but in a different way. Her whimsy is very refined, exciting, and very mysterious. It’s cool.”
“The Weekend” is up for the Best R&B Performance award at the 2018 Grammys. SZA was also nominated for Best New Artist, Best Urban Contemporary Album (Ctrl), Best R&B Song (“Supermodel”), and Best Rap/Sung Performance (“Love Galore” with Travis Scott).
