Talib Kweli and Angie Martinez To Honor Students and Activists At Radio City Music Hall

(AllHipHop News) A-list performers and speakers like artists Talib Kweli, Daya and Winnie Harlow will be in attendance during the “We Day” event honoring students working to make a difference in the world next month.

The event, which is taking place at Radio City Music Hall, commemorates a young people from around the world who are doing life-changing work in their local communities.

“We Day” is being hosted by Hip-Hop personality Angie Martinez and other big names are expected, including Jordan Fisher, Paula Abdul, Mia Farrow, and others.

An example of making a change for the greater good are two 7th graders, Betsy Nwachukwu and Dejanae Johnson.

They are involved with the Blue Light Program as volunteer peer counselors who help find solutions to conflicts at their school and within their community.

They are also involved with other empowerment programs such as Girls Empowered and Motivated for Success which focuses on self-empowerment and self-esteem.

“WE Day is such an inspirational event,” Daya said. “Learning about the amazing initiatives my fellow peers are undertaking to support each other and help build stronger communities is exactly what gives me inspiration to try and make a difference in the world. I cannot wait to attend my first ever We Day in New York and celebrate the power of young people and the leaders of tomorrow.”

We Day will be presented at Radio City Music Hall on April 6, 2017.
