(AllHipHop News) Last month, Troy Ave went on The Breakfast Club and denounced “the streets”. He said, “The streets is a myth. It’s not real. Nowhere in the real world does the streets count.”
The Brooklynite expounded on that newfound ideology with a lengthy Instagram post. The message included Troy claiming his involvement in the 2016 shooting at New York City’s Irving Plaza could cost him his freedom for at least two decades.

The violent Irving Plaza incident led to the death of Troy’s friend/bodyguard Ronald “Banga” McPhatter. Popular podcaster Daryl “Taxstone” Campbell is facing charges in connection to the shootout.
Troy has expressed that he is willing to testify against Taxstone in the case. His “2 Legit 2 Quit” song contains a line where he raps: “I’m only loyal to my fam. Middle finger from the stand. It’s either me or you.”
