Two Men Dropped From Civil Suit Against Notorious B.I.G.

David Mack, a former LAPD officer, was accused of helping orchestrate the 1997 murder of Notorious B.I.G. in Los Angeles in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Wallace family.

Attorneys representing the family of Christopher “Notorious B.I.G.” Wallace have dropped an ex-Los Angeles Police Department officer accused of playing in a role in the rapper’s murder from a wrongful death civil lawsuit against the LAPD.

David Mack, a former LAPD officer, was accused of helping orchestrate the 1997 murder of Notorious B.I.G. in Los Angeles in a wrongful death lawsuit filed by the Wallace family.

The lawsuit alleged that Mack orchestrated the hit and that it was carried out by a man named Amir Muhammad.

Now, with just two weeks left, Mack has been dropped from the lawsuit for unknown reasons and Muhummad will be dropped from the civil lawsuit shortly as well.

Perry Sanders, attorney for the Wallace family, said the case against the LAPD was still strong, despite the two main suspects in the murder being dropped from the civil suit.

“This is a civil rights case against the city of Los Angeles,” Sanders told the Los Angeles Times. “This has always been a case against the city.”

The civil lawsuit will go to trial June 23 and the only remaining defendant in the case is the city of Los Angeles.
