](AllHipHop News) Yo Gotti was at the center of some minor controversy in his hometown of Memphis, Tennessee over the weekend.

Gotti was one of several local influential Memphis natives to be highlighted on a billboard promoting the Shelby County School System.

But the promotion featuring the rapper, who attended Trezevant High School, was short-lived.

According to reports, Gotti’s billboard came down just 24 hours after it was posted, after the school was flooded with complaints.

“The billboard isn’t an endorsement of Yo Gotti or his lyrics, but we wanted a figure in the community that kids could recognize and relate to,” a representative for Shelby County said in a statement.

Officials thought it was a good idea to showcase the rapper since Yo Gotti has been a strong supporter of his alma mater, and other local area high schools.
