Michael Jackson’s estate has made a reported $600 million in the three years since his death, but according to the NY Daily News, the trust that he has left his three children remains on zero. MJ left this earth with a huge amount of debt, and all of that debt has to be paid for before his children will see a dime. They are currently living on a family allowance given to MJ’s mom and their legal guardian, Katherine Jackson. But don’t feel too bad for the kids yet. The family’s monthly allowance is $70,000, more than most people make in a year. In addition, once the lawyers settle MJ’s debt, the three children are set to skate away with hundreds of millions of dollars. On Michael’s orders, Prince, Paris, and Blanket will each have to wait until they’re 21 to touch their riches — but by then, they will land whopping regular handouts. It seems as if the bad blood between Beyonce and Kim Kardashian that spilled its way onto our TV screens during the 2012 BET Awards, has reared its ugly head again at Jay-Z’s “Made In America” festival in Philadelphia over the weekend. According to a NY Daily News source, “Kim and Beyonce barely spoke to each other.” Adding, “They were on opposite sides of the stage. Beyonce didn’t even acknowledge [Kardashian] was there until the concert was almost over. Eventually, the women “made small talk in the dressing room, but you could tell Kim was uncomfortable. She clung onto Kanye the entire time and didn’t say much,” according to a second source. So much for that friendship. Instead, Beyonce was spotted running around the festival with ROC Nation artist Rita Ora. Hip-Hop Rumors: Are Shyne & Max B Cut From The Same Cloth?
Fresh off of his Twitter vent on Diddy, Shyne has jumped back online to defend Max B. Both Max B and Shyne didn’t “snitch” and ended up getting heavy federal time for it. Earlier this week, Max B’s conviction of 75 years in prison was for his part in a 2009 robbery that left one man dead. Although Max B wasn’t there, the jury declared that he was the mastermind and he was convicted. This conviction means that he will not be eligible for release until the year 2042. Shyne knows a thing or two about being behind bars, and decided to show some support for Max B on his Twitter page. Hip-Hop Rumors: Is 50 Cent Bailing On His Headphones Company?
It looks like 50 Cent is having some trouble with Bradenton company aka Sleek Audio, LLC, the company he partnered with for his “Sleek by 50” wireless headphones. 50 Cent has officially filed a lawsuit against the company for $285,000, the amount he invested in the company as well as an additional $61,429 in back interest and an additional 15 percent for any debt as well as reimbursement for his legal fees. According to the Miami Herald, the company is claiming that 50 defrauded them when he took their idea to a competitor, SMS Audio. According to the lawsuit, “Sleek would have never borrowed money from Jackson or allowed him to invest in its company had it known that Jackson would ultimately use this tactic (of misusing the money) to steal its design, technology and headphones,” the company said in an un-sworn court statement. If 50 did take their technology to a competitor, that pretty shady. Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovine, the owners of Beats By Dre can rest easy, it looks like 50 Cent is out of the headphone game. Sidenote – 50 Cent released a statement today regarding the tragic death of his manager, Chris Lighty. Below is the statement he released to Billboard Biz: “Chris has been an important part of my business and personal growth for a decade,” said 50 Cent in a statement through his publicist. “He was a good friend and advisor who helped me develop as an artist and businessman. First of all, can we address the rumor that there is going to be a Scarface remake on the way! According to the Hollywood Reporter, Universal is looking to remake the movie, but it won’t be an exact replica of the 1983 cult classic version featuring Al Pacino. The new Scarface is going to be similar in that it’s going to be a “crime tale,” but it will be set in 2012, and the characters will be different. It’s going to be a dark look at the American Dream, if that dream is to be a high-powered drug dealer. Now, let’s get to the second part of this rumor – Rihanna. According to The Sun, the Bajan singe is obsessed with the character of Elvira Hancock, the hard-partying girlfriend of Al Pacino, originally played by Michelle Pfeiffer. A source said: “Rihanna loves Scarface. The picture caught the eye of MediaTakeOut, who did some research and found the original photo, which was indeed of Beyonce. Check out the side by side photos below: The hand in Nicki’s photo is exactly the same as the hand in Beyonce’s photo. Even the way the curls fall is identical. Soon after being called out, Nicki deleted the photo from her page and replaced it with another one. Very weird. In related news, today’s NY Post Page Six is reporting that Nicki Minaj and “American Idol” are almost all signed off on the contract to have her join Mariah Carey as a judge, but Nicki’s endorsement deal with Pepsi is holding up the process. The two are rumored to be performing their collaborative song, “Cake”. Rihanna tweeted her fans late last week and asked if they would be mad at her if “Cake” was turned into a single. According to MediaTakeOut.com, MTV suits expressed concern about the backlash they may receive due to the joint performance, but Rihanna was hearing none of that. She allegedly demanded that Breezy perform with her, and the producers of the show had no choice but to oblige. Our friends over at The Grio.com have posted a scathing article calling Stevie J out as a woman abuser. No, not in the same sense as Memphitz, allegedly – but they say Stevie is emotionally abusive towards his baby mama, Mimi Faust and his girlfriend, Joseline Hernandez. The article was written by domestic violence survivor and advocate, Sil Lai Abrams, and she believes that although Stevie has publicly never laid a hand on the women, he is abusive towards them in other ways. Check out an excerpt of her article below: Chronic infidelity is a form of abuse, as is bullying, name calling, put downs, intimidation and repeated threats of abandonment. Love & Hip Hop, Basketball Wives and its reality sistren consistently portray female cast members as belligerent, sexually manipulative, emotionally unstable and physically violent. Those who sit in judgment of Joseline and Mimi don’t understand that one of the consequences of abuse is its effect on a victim’s mental health. The reality is that, women who are battered suffer from a disproportionately higher rate of mental health disorders. Look, I’m not a psychologist, but could it be possible that some of the “ratchet” behavior we ridicule on L&HHA or other exploitive “reality” shows are actually just a symptom of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder that often results from being abused? Chad “Ochocinco” Johnson is probably going through the most trying time of his life. First, he was arrested for domestic violence against his wife, “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozado, then he was cut from the Miami Dolphins and it was aired on ESPN. He also lost two lucrative endorsement deals. Now we hear that Chad may be going to jail for one year for his domestic violence offense against Evelyn. Unfortunately, this was not Chad’s first time being accused of hitting a woman. In 2000, Chad plead guilty in a California court for slapping his then-girlfriend after they got into a heated argument. He was sentenced to community service, but because of that, Johnson’s current misdemeanor domestic violence charge could be upgraded to a felony.
