"Barbershop: The Next Cut" Sneak Peak Preview
Opening nationwide on April 15th, Warner Bros. Pictures in association with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures and New Line Cinema is coming out with the third installment of the beloved “Barbershop” movies with “Barbershop: The Next Cut.” In this continuation of the story that we have come to know and love, the streets may have changed for the worse, but Calvin and his shop are still solid as a rock when it comes to keeping folks together with the perfect mix of on fleek style, hard won wisdom and some much needed comic relief. When the elected officials downtown just aren’t protecting the community the way that they should, Calvin and the shop take the matter into their own hands in signature style. Protecting friends, family and the girls and guys just around the way with a safe place to sit, get a cut and style, along with a healthy dose of the dozens, the hashtag #barbershopsavestheneighborhood says everything and more when it comes to this “Next Cut”. Starring Ice Cube, Cedric The Entertainer, Regina Hall, Anthony Anderson, Eve, JB Smoove, LaMorne Morris, Sean Patrick Thomas, Deon Cole, Common and Nicki Minaj, just the cast alone hints that the day you see this movie could indeed be a very good day. Juvenile Becomes A Thespian, Rapper Lands Starring Role In Crime Drama Film
(AllHipHop News) New Orleans Hip Hop/bounce legend Juvenile has crafted a multiplatinum 15+ year recording career, but he will turn into a vengeful gangsta for his role in the movie The Power of Few. Shot in New Orleans and directed by Leone Marucci, the crime drama tells the story of a bloody afternoon from three different perspectives, with Juvenile’s character playing a central role in the third act. Juvenile told Nola.com that the prospect of working some of his favorite actors was one of the main reasons for his signing on to the film: To be honest, when they said Christian Slater and Christopher Walken and Anthony Anderson — right there that’s three people that I really like. I watch their movies. I watch ‘Mobsters,’ I watch ‘King of New York,’ I watch the movies that Anthony’s done with my fellow rapper DMX in the beginning. I’ve seen him do movies that I’ve loved a lot, like ‘Barbershop.’ In addition to being in front of screen, the 37-year-old veteran has plans to be apart of the film’s soundtrack and possibly enlisting some new artists. Juvenile’s recent mixtape with DJ Slob1 and his son, Young Juve’s mixtape “Son of A Hot Boy” are both featured on Juvenile’s website JuvieTheGreat.com The Power of Few will debut on February 22nd to select theatres in Baton Rouge, New Orleans and Los Angeles.
