(AllHiphop News) Chris Smith, the last living member of Kriss Kross, tearfully recollected his fondest memories of his rap partner Chris Kelly, who died May 1 of a suspected drug overdose. Smith’s eulogy brought those in attendance, including Chris Kelly’s mother Donna. Smith said, “I just want to say, I love you man. I would say Kris Kross forever, but without Chris, it ain’t never gonna be the same. But I hope our legacy for hip-hop is never forgotten.” Other attendees included DJ Nabs, Da Brat and mentor Jermaine Dupri. Footage Surfaces Of Chris Kelly From The Day Of His Death
(AllHipHop News) Before Kriss Kross member Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly passed away last week the last time the 34-year-old was seen by most people was at the So So Def 20th Anniversary show in February. TMZ has now obtained footage on Kelly the day he was found unconscious at his Atlanta home on May 1st. The video was said to be shot around 7 AM that morning. The rapper was later pronounced dead at Atlanta Medical Center around 5:30 PM that evening. [ALSO READ: Chris Kelly, Kris Kross Rapper Dead At 34] In the video, Kelly is seen rapping to the camera. Reportedly, the lyrics were from a song that he had been working on prior to his death. No official report of what led to Kelly’s passing has been issued, but there has been speculation that it was the result of a drug overdose. (AllHipHop News) After a week of mourning and speculation that Chris “Mac Daddy” Kelly died of a drug overdose, funeral services have officially been planned for the former childhood star from the rap duo Kris Kross. While cocaine and heroin are likely to be the deadly combination that took the life of Chris Kelly, police have not revealed the toxicology results yet. Chris Kelly’s passing comes just weeks after he re-united with fellow Kris Kross member Chris Smith for the So-So Def 20th Anniversary All-Star concert. The group was said to be joining a possible So-So Def reunion tour in the coming months. Chis Kelly was just 34 year-old.

WOW. The Mac Daddy of Kriss Kross is dead. Once upon a time there were these things called kid rappers and they actually rapped like kids. Well Kriss Kross were kid rappers. They weren’t like Keef or the other “kids” like Lil Poop or whatever the f**k is out there now. Those guys are kids age wise but adults in content. Anyway, RIP Chris Kelly. Dude left his mark. TMZ is reporting that Chris’s death may have something to do with drugs. As of press time, nobody really knows, but there is nothing natural about a 34 year old dying so I don’t want to hear about it being that.
