Montana had just completed a show at the Theatre of Living Arts. After he and his entourage arrived at a Holiday Inn Express, a gunman opened fire on a crowd of fans that had gathered near the bus. “A large crowd of fans, as well as some of the entourage, were loitering and just hanging out on Christopher Columbus Boulevard when according to some of the witnesses a car drove by and opened fire,” said Philadelphia Police Department’s Chief Inspector Scott Small. A 27-year-old unidentified man was struck in the abdomen and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Another man was shot in the shoulder and is currently in stable condition. According to reports by WPVI, several individuals who were taken into custody had semi-automatic handguns, and over two dozen people from the scene were questioned by police including members of Montana’s entourage. Authorities have stated that they don’t believe that Montana or anyone from his camp were the targets of the shooting. No homicide charges have been filed as of yet.
