(AllHipHop News) Bad Boy recording artists French Montana and Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), who are both at work on their upcoming debut albums, Excuse My French and Lace Up respectively, have revealed a few upcoming features on their respective releases set for later this year. “You got The Weeknd, you got Max B, you got Coke Boys, you got Kanye, Big Sean, you got Wiz Khalifa,” French told Puna.NL during a recent trip to Amsterdam to perform at the Appelsap Music Festival. The Bad Boy/MMG rapper continued, “You got a lot of features, Puff, Ross, but for the simple fact that it’s an album I’m taking my time. My mixtapes I take my time, but I never treated it like [an album]. My album is the big one.” French Montana’s Bad Boy labelmate, MGK, also revealed some of the collaborations that fans can expect to hear when Lace Up is released in August while speaking with VladTV. “I got legends on there,” MGK said. “DMX. Me, Tech N9ne and Twista on one track, the song everybody wanted to hear. F#####’ Eminem, I’m just playing. That would have been certified platinum…Bun B. Everyone’s really like legends.” While speaking on both his album’s title and movement, MGK said, “Lace Up is a lifestyle. Everything I stand for, it’s everything my fans stand for. It’s tattooed on our bodies for life. It’s something I will never explain to the general public because it’s something beautiful that you have to discover for yourself. You have to find your own meaning in it. “The album is definitely one of the best albums of the decade,” he boldly stated. “[It] will be a problem at the Grammy’s 100%. Regardless if my singles haven’t taken off the way that we wanted them to it’s all a part of the journey because I believe that because I never caught that quick-winded hype I’ll be around for a long, long time.” MGK’s Lace Up is expected to hit stores in August, while French Montana’s Excuse My French is slated to drop late this year.
(AllHipHop News) After months of anticipation, Bronx, New York rapper French Montana has revealed that his debut studio album has been delayed. French’s album Excuse My French was due to hit stores on July 17. On Friday (June 15), French confirmed to Billboard that the album was now due in stores this Fall. “I’m still working on a couple of the last pieces so I’m not really rushing it,” French told Billboard. French revealed the reason for the album’s delay was his involvement with Drake’s “Club Paradise” tour. In related French Montana news, the rapper suffered a setback on his way to a press-date for the “Club Paradise” tour over the weekend. The rapper shredded the front tire of his expensive Rolls-Royce Ghost, leaving him stranded on a New Jersey corner, as he waited for automotive assistance. A luxury SUV of eventually came and picked up French and transported him to the date, while his manager stayed behind with the pricey vehicle and it’s valuables.
(AllHipHop News) After receiving widespread attention following the release of his “I Don’t Like” record, Chicago native Chief Keef has announced that he has inked a deal with Interscope Records. Keef told MTV during Power 107.9’s 17th Annual Birthday Bash in Atlanta over the weekend, “I’ve been talkin’ to a lot of labels, but I just noticed that Interscope got people like 50, Eminem. They was talkin’ good to me. They was talkin’ like I was talkin’ and I liked that. All these other labels, I was talkin’ to ‘em, but it’s time anyway for me and I’m goin’ with Interscope.” Some of the teams that Keef passed on reportedly included Cash Money and T.I.’s Grand Hustle. During the interview, which can be viewed here, the rapper also revealed that he has signed a publishing deal with Dr. Dre who has his own Interscope deal via his label, Aftermath Entertainment. Keef most recently was featured on the “I Don’t Like” remix featuring Kanye West, Big Sean, Pusha T, and Jadakiss. Despite having a July 17 release date scheduled for months, Bad Boy/MMG recording artist French Montana has announced a push back to Fall 2012 for his forthcoming debut album, Excuse My French. French, who is currently on traveling with Drake, Meek Mill, J. Cole, and 2 Chainz on the Club Paradise tour, released the first single from Excuse My French last week, titled “Pop That.” A visual for the record, which features Lil Wayne, Drake, and Rick Ross, is expected to be released in the coming weeks. Of the push back French Montana told Billboard, “I’m still working on a couple of the last pieces so I’m not really rushing it.” According to the rapper, the album is already more than halfway done. Per TMZ, the nightclub where the much talked-about Chris Brown and Drake incident took place earlier this week has been shut down indefinitely. W.i.P., which is located in the basement of New York’s upscale Greenhouse lounge, was closed for business by the New York Police Department for a number of violations. Law enforcement sources tell TMZ that “the Civil Enforcement Unit (a division of the NYPD) had been looking into violations at the club previously and the events that unfolded this week provided them with the opportunity to examine those violations more closely.” However, none of the violations that W.i.P. was shut down for have any relation to the incident that took place between Drake and Brown following MMG’s Self Made Vol. 2 listening event across town in the Bronx at Sin City Cabaret. Cash Money President Bryan “Birdman” Williams told MTV of the altercation, “To me, I think n*ggas got Drake twisted. A lot of n*ggass be playin’, pitty-pattin’ with Drake. I don’t like that sh*t, period. Drake is one of us, so if you f*ckin’ with Drake, you f*ckin’ with us, period!” More details are to be released in the coming days, although no charges have been pressed on Drake as of yet.
