Chief Keef Gets 60 Days in Juvenile Detention Center

(AllHipHop News) Rapper Chief Keef has received a 60 day sentence in jail, after violating his probation during an interview at a gun range in New York last year. According to DNAInfo.com, prosecutors in the case alleged that Chief Keef was a member of a Black Disciples offshoot called “Lamron,” a term used for gang members on Normal Boulevard in Chief Keef’s old neighborhood, Englewood. In court, prosecutors and a judge reviewed lyrics from his debut album Finally Rich on Interscope, and stated that he was bragging about being free, despite his actions. The sentence comes just days after the rapper, born Keith Cozart, was jailed for the violation, which occurred earlier this week. “I beg you, please, give me one more chance to show you. I’m a very good-hearted person. I have not picked up any more cases. That’s not my life anymore,” Chief Keef reportedly told the judge. Family members like his mother and grandmother told reporters the he just raps about the stuff that he lives next to. Due to the sentence, Chief Keef will be canceling his tour. He can appeal the judge’s ruling after 30 days in juvenile detention. His next court date is on March 14.

Chicago Rapper Chief Keef To Remain Free – For Now

(AllHipHop News). Chicago rapper Chief Keef scored a victory in court yesterday (January 2), when a judge allowed to remain free over prosecutors request that he be jailed. Prosecutors claim the Southside Chicago-based rapper had violated his probation, for moving to a home he reportedly purchased in a tony suburban Chicago neighborhood, without notifying his probation officers. Probation officers claimed the rapper had moved from his grandmother’s residence, to live with an uncle in Northbrook, in a house he allegedly purchased. But yesterday, lawyers for the rapper argued that he was simply recording music at his managers home/studio in the neighborhood. A juvenile court judge agreed and said there was no “credible evidence” that Chief Keef moved from his original home. The rapper is still not in the clear, due to an upcoming court date set for January 28. In that incident, prosecutors claim Chief Keef violated his probation, by doing an interview at a gun range. The rapper, born Keith Cozart, is currently on probation for pointing a gun at a police officer.

Prosecutors Seek To Jail Rapper Chief Keef Over Sudden Move To Upscale Neighborhood

(AllHipHop News) Chicago rapper Chief Keef will start off the new year fighting for his freedom in court tomorrow (January 2). Prosecutors are attempting to put Chief Keef in jail, after he moved from his old residence, without telling his probation officer. The rap star, born Keith Cozart, has moved from a residence with his uncle, into a house in the upscale neighborhood of Northbrook. The sudden move has angered his probation officers and caused alarm for some of the residents of Northbrook, who fear his ties to the Black Gangster Disciples could bring problems to the neighborhood. The rapper, who is on probation for pointing a gun at a police officer, is also facing a court date later in the month for a separate, alleged parole violation. In that case, Chief Keef is accused of holding a gun at a range in New York in a video for Pitchfork Media, in violation of his probation.
