Aesop Rock Strikes Back With “Skelethon”; Rhymesayers Entertainment Release His First In 5 Years

(AllHipHop News) Rhymesayers Entertainment has announced that Aesop Rock’s sixth studio album, Skelethon, will be released on July 10. Hailed as “Indie Rap’s wordiest wordsmith” by Rolling Stone, the New York-born and San Francisco-based MC’s new album will be his first solo release in five years and will act as the follow-up to 2007’s None Shall Pass. According to a Rhymesayers Entertainment press release, “Skelethon not only sees the rapper back waxing poetically on his own but also marks his first wholly self-produced effort. While the sounds are familiar, we see Aesop venturing in some exciting new directions with guest appearances from Indie Rock archetype, Kimya Dawson, as well as Allyson Baker of Dirty Ghosts, Hanni El Khatib, Nicky Fleming-Yaryan, Rob Sonic, DJ Big Wiz and the Grimace Federation.” It continues, “Aesop’s new album follows in the wake of several deep personal losses and highlights subject matter that deals with the sometimes-futile ways people try to cope with serious issues. Skelethon is set to be both a showpiece for his illustrious career and a serious payoff for his droves of ever-patient loyal fans.” Check out the tracklisting for Skelethon below: 1. Leisureforce 2.
