Man Responsible for Las Vegas Shootout Indicted; Potentially Facing Death Penalty
(AllHipHop News) A man named Ammar Asim Faruq Harris, accused of shooting up the Vegas strip in February, was extradited to Nevada just a week ago and has now been indicted on murder charges. Harris was arrested by a fugitive apprehension team of police and FBI agents on Feb. 28 in Studio City, CA, and faces 11 felonies for the Vegas Strip shooting and resulting crash. Police say that Harris is accused of killing aspiring rapper and pimp Kenny Clutch, born Ken Cherry, after an argument on the at the Aria Hotel and Resort led to fatal shootout in the streets of Las Vegas. According to an aide of the Clark County District Attorney, Harris was to be returned to Nevada from a Los Angeles County jail by May 10, but Harris was indicted before the end of April and if convicted is facing the death penalty. The crash on Feb. 21 also killed two people in a taxi, who were struck by Cherry’s car after Harris, a self-described pimp, reportedly fired shots from a Range Rover SUV into Cherry’s Maserati sports car. The Clark County District Court grand jury also indicted Harris, 27, for robbery and three felony sex assault counts from a 2010 rape case that was thrown out when the victim refused to testify. Suspect In Murder Of Rapper Kenny Clutch Caught In Los Angeles
(AllHipHop News) The main suspect in a Las Vegas Strip shooting that killed three people surrendered in Los Angeles yesterday, (February 28). Police took Ammar Harris into custody, after finding him in a gym, inside of the Archview Luxury Apartments in Studio City. Police had been looking for Ammar Harris since February 21, after a deadly shooting on the Las Vegas strip that killed rapper Kenny Clutch, as well as a woman in a taxicab and the driver of the taxi cab. Police believe Harris, allegedly a pimp, argued with Kenny Clutch, born Kenneth Wayne Cherry Jr., after a performance featuring French Montana at Haze nightclub in Las Vegas. Police believe Harris was driving his black Range Rover, when he fired five shots at Kenny Clutch’s Maserati. The Maserati smashed into a taxicab, caught on fire and killed the cab driver, Michael Bolden, as well as the passenger, Sandra Sutton-Wasmund. Ammar Harris is facing three charges of murder, one attempted murder and several charges related to the shooting.
Young Woman Emerges As “Person Of Interest” In Kenny Clutch Murder Case
(AllHipHop News) Another person has been added to the February 21st shooting on the Las Vegas Strip that took three lives including aspiring rapper Kenneth “Kenny Clutch” Cherry Jr. Las Vegas police believes Tineesha Lashun Howard is suspected to have been driving with prime suspect Ammar Harris in the black Range Rover police impounded. Howard is 22 years old, goes by the name Yenesis Alfonzo and has a criminal history, which includes soliciting prostitution similar to Harris. The police believe Harris is “involved in the sex trade,” according to Las Vegas Metropolitan Police sp0kesman Officer Bill Cassell. “She’s listed as a missing person,” Cassell said. “How she went missing is part of the Miami Police Department’s investigation.” Cassel also mentioned how Howard could be “endangered”. The taxicab service has already pledged $35,000 toward a reward fund for information helping locate the heavily tattooed 26 year old Harris. Harris’ description is 26 years old, Black male with a height of about 5-foot-11 and weight around 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.Howard is describes as being 5-feet 8-inches tall, a weight roughly 120 pounds with green eyes and dark hair. The couple appear to be a couple with various pictures together online. Suspect In Kenny Clutch’s Shooting Revealed
(AllHipHop News) Police have identified a suspect in the shooting of 27-year-old Bay area rapper Kenneth “Kenny Clutch” Cherry Jr. Ammar Harris, 26, is now a prime suspect in the Las Vegas strip shooting that took the lives of innocent bystanders Sandra Sutton-Wasmund and her taxi driver at the time of the shooting, Michael Boldon. [ALSO READ: Kenny Clutch Target Of Vegas Shooting] Around 4:20am on February 21 while Cherry was driving his dark grey Maserati on the famous Vegas strip, a black Range Rover SUV pursued him, opened fire and fled. Las Vegas police Capt. Chris Jones says the black Range Rover was impounded and towed as evidence when it was recovered at an apartment complex a few blocks east of the Strip. Police currently do not know Harris’ whereabouts and claim he is armed and dangerous. Harris has a lengthy criminal record including kidnapping, assistance in prostitution and sexual assault. There is speculation that the fatal showdown between the black SUV gunman and the amateur rapper occurred due to a discrepancy at the valet area at the Aria resort-casino which is a block south of where the crash occurred. Hours prior to the crash, French Montana was performing and hosting at the Haze nightclub which is apart of the Aria resort-casino but there police do not connect the Moroccan-born MC to the incident. Even though Cherry has rapped about keeping a gun in his Maserati in songs such as ‘Stay Schemin,” his father claims his son was harmless and unarmed. “My son was a good boy,” Kenneth Cherry Sr said during news conference “My song was a victim like the two people in the taxi cab.” Las Vegas court records and police state Cherry Jr had no prior arrests or criminal record prior his untimely death.
