Pusha T Announces Release Date For Prelude to King Push

November’s been a good month for Pusha T. The G.O.O.D. Music artist was made president of the music company earlier this month, also announcing that his album King Push, a follow-up to the critically acclaimed album My Name Is My Name, will release sometime this Spring. Today, Pusha made fans more excited after announcing that he will drop a project before the album. The new project, titled Darkest Before Dawn, will release December 18th, according to a recent interview with Noisey. There isn’t any word on whether Pusha’s latest single “Untouchable” will be on the new project though.

Welcome 2 The Block Recap: Pusha T, Casey Veggies, Ty Dolla $ign & More

An event of unprecedented proportions went down in the world famous Fairfax District on Los Angeles, as two titans of streetwear, Crooks & Castles and Diamond Supply Co., teamed up to throw the Welcome 2 The Block block party to bring in the new Crooks & Castles store on Fairfax. With Ben Baller and Karen Civil as hosts, Welcome 2 The Block brought out some of the West Coast rap scene’s finest artists; such as Nipsey Hussle (who brought Slauson Ave. with him as he performed “Hussle In The House” and tracks off his forthcoming Crenshaw mixtape), Casey Veggies (knocking out songs like “Hella Faces” and “Everything Wavy,” and also performing a snippet of a new song he did with Hit-Boy), Skeme and more. On the R&B side of things, Ty Dolla $ign performed a medley of his recent hits, K. Roosevelt brought out his HS87 labelmates Hit-Boy and Audio Push (and also Jay305), and TeeFlii brought a combo of his brand of Ratchet&B and dance to the stage. A full day of the Fairfax scene showing out all led up to a performance by the headliner, Pusha T. King Push showed why he’s regarded as one of the top rappers in the game, as he tore through his songs and many of his classic verses that he did as a member of The Clipse and as a solo artist. With a raucous crowd of thousands responding accordingly to such songs as “Numbers On The Board” and “Sweet Serenade,” Pusha T let the fans know that My Name Is My Name was going to be the best rap album of the year. The block of Fairfax between Rosewood and Oakwood has been highly regarded for years as the trendsetting hub for streetwear fashion, and considering the success of the Welcome 2 The Block block party, Fairfax still reigns supreme in Los Angeles and the world over in the street wear scene. Pusha T and Juicy J Team Up To Takeover SkeeLive

Last night on AXS TV’s SKeeLive show hosted by DJ Skee, Pusha T and Juicy J came through and rocked The Conga Room crowd with performances from their respective albums. Pusha T, there to promote his upcoming My Name is My Name release, hit the stage first with “Blocka” and went on to finish up with the crowd-favorite “Numbers on the Board.” Although he’s been in recent beef’s with the Young Money camp, Pusha made no real mention of it on the show. Juicy J also had an incredible performance backed by the SkeeLive band as performed “Bounce It” and “Bandz Will Make Her Dance.” Juicy actually had to record “Bounce It” twice due to excessive “smoking” on the stage. Both artists sat down with DJ Skee afterwards to talk about their new albums and solo careers. The show also included interviews with Producer Che Pope and Young Money female artist Chanel West Coast. SkeeLive airs on Mark Cuban’s AXS TV every Tuesday night at 7 pm ET/10 pm PT. Once again, AllHipHop.com was there to witness it all and grab some pics for you all. Check ’em out!

Pusha T Says New Album Is Fusion Of Biggie, Ma$e, & RZA [VIDEOS]

(AllHipHop News) G.O.O.D. Music member Pusha T is prepping the release of his debut album My Name Is My Name for later this year. This weekend at the Coachella Music Festival the emcee spoke with Fuse about the project and revealed that he sees it as a combination of Notorious B.I.G.’s Life After Death, Ma$e’s Harlem World, and RZA’s production of Only Built For Cuban Linx. “Those are like the perfect moods in description of diversity of what I want to hear in rap,” said Pusha. “The raw RZA edge… the lyricism of a Biggie… the arrogance of a Ma$e in Harlem World.” Pusha goes on to talk about using R&B sounds on the album as well, but he also makes it clear his LP will have a traditional Hip-Hop vibe. “I want some of my album to sound like a mixtape,” said Push. “I want it to have that rap feel. Uncompromised rap feel.” Pusha also reveals that Kanye West, Pharrell Williams, The-Dream, Swizz Beatz, Rico Beats, Nottz, Don Cannon, and Hudson Mohawke will handle the producing on My Name Is My Name. Features will include Kanye, Kendrick Lamar, Rick Ross, 2 Chainz, Future, and members of the Re-Up Gang. The Clipse rapper recently dropped the song “Numbers On The Board,” and in a previous interview stated that a single with Kanye called “I Am” will be available soon. He also says he has recorded a verse for an upcoming project by his brother and fellow Clipse emcee Malice. Pusha T Talks Lil Wayne Beef, Top MCs, & Next Single

(AllHipHop News) G.O.O.D. Music veteran Pusha T appeared on Hot 107’s The Q Deezy Show last week, and the “Exodus 23:1” rapper touched on a range of topics including his reaction to Lil Wayne’s recent hospital stint, whether he’s willing to record with the Young Money leader, his top emcees in the game, and details on his album. As far as creating a track with his long-time rival Wayne, Pusha says that is not something he is interested in doing at this point suggesting that Wayne’s skills are currently not up to par for a worthy collaboration. “I don’t wanna see that. You acting like this Carter 2 Wayne,” Pusha responded when asked by the host about the potential musical union. “All these people out here rapping good and you wanna tell me you wanna see me with… you disrespecting me.” During the interview Pusha also did not appear too concerned about Wayne’s recent health situation that landed him in the hospital. [ALSO READ: Lil Wayne Has Epilepsy, Says He “Could’ve Died”] “Did they do like a candlelight vigil or anything? Oh, so it wasn’t important right?” he says before laughing. The Clipse emcee was eager to talk about his upcoming album My Name Is My Name due out this summer. Pusha’s solo debut LP will feature production by Swizz Beatz, Pharrell, The-Dream, Rico Beats, Don Cannon, and Kanye West. Kanye will also appear on Pusha’s next single entitled “I Am.” While Kanye and Pusha mesh well in the studio, their respective opinions on who is Hip-Hop’s top emcee varies. Last month West said he felt that Lil Wayne is the best rapper in the world, a point of view Pusha clearly does not share. “Me and Kanye have a difference in taste. It is okay. He can have that as an opinion,” said Pusha. “Ma$e was also his favorite rapper at one time.” Pusha also disagrees with two unnamed selections on MTV’s recent Hottest MCs list. While he understands that not releasing an album last year is probably what kept him off the list, he believes one important criteria should be considered more seriously when choosing the top rappers in the game. “I feel like you have to be quotable to be on the hottest emcee list,” says Pusha.
