Lawyer For Notorious B.I.G. Blasts LAPD Over Autopsy Report

(AllHipHop News) A lawyer for the Notorious B.I.G. recently blasted the Los Angeles Police Department, for releasing an autopsy of the slain rapper. Notorious B.I.G., born Christopher Wallace, was gunned down on March 9, 1997, during a drive-by shooting in front of the Petersen Automotive Museum in downtown Los Angeles. The rapper died after he was struck by four bullets that pierced the passenger side of the Chevy Suburban, in which he was a passenger. The LAPD claimed they released the autopsy photo in hopes of generating new leads surrounding the murder. Perry Sanders Jr., long time lawyer for Notorious B.I.G.’s estate, criticized the LAPD for releasing the autopsy report after all almost 16-years. “What legitimate lead could be stimulated by releasing an autopsy that says Mr. Wallace was shot. When everyone knows that ” Perry Sanders Jr. told The Los Angeles Times. “Why don’t they release some of the clues they have?” Notorious B.I.G was killed by a shot that tore through his colon, liver, heart and lung, before coming to a stop near his left shoulder area. No one has ever been arrested for the murder of Notorious B.I.G. or Tupac Shakur, who was gunned down six months earlier, on September 7, 1996 on the strip in Las Vegas.

(AllHipHop News) Sean “Diddy” Combs was honored by Reverend Al Sharpton and The National Action Network (NAN) on Tuesday (October 16) in New York. Reverend Al and and NAN hosted the 3rd Annual Triumph Awards, which honored Diddy for his remarkable career as a business leader/entertainment mogul. A variety of celebrities and political activistist attended the event, which also honored filmmaker George Lucas. Diddy labeled Reverend Al Sharpton as a father figure and said he was honored to be recognized by such a “prestigious organization.” Pioneering Run-DMC group member Darryl “DMC” McDaniels will host an event for a scholarship fund, for a teen who was murdered in August. DMC will head to a benefit organized for Cristina LoBrutto, who was shot and killed during an overnight shift at a Pathmark in New Jersey. A woman named Gwen Evans, who never met Cristina LoBrutto, took on her cause, by organizing the scholarship fund raising event in LoBrutto’s name. When Evans had read articles on DMC’s active participation in such events, she reached out to his agents, who agreed the world renowned rapper would attend in order to help raise the funds. The fund raising scholarship for Cristina LoBrutto Scholarship Fund is slated for October 24 at the Robert Collins Arena on Lincroft’s campus in New Jersey. Chicago rapper Chief Keef could be sent back to jail for violating his probation, prosecutors said in court yesterday (October 17). Prosecutors are seeking to put the 17-year-old rapper in a juvenile detention facility, for two different probation violations. Chief Keef, born Keith Cozart, is currently on 18 months of probation for pointing a gun at a police officer. The rapper is accused of violating his probation, by shooting guns at a range for a video/article that was to appear in Pitchfork magazine and failing to complete GED courses. According to reports, prosecutors are also seeking more information from Chief on the murder of rival Chicago rapper Joseph “Lil JoJo” Coleman, who was shot and killed during a war of words with Keef and his rap crew. Chicago police also said Chief Keef’s life was in danger any time he was in Chicago. “Anytime he is in Chicago, he is a potential target and anyone around him is in jeopardy, including innocent kids,” Nicholas Roti, chief of the Chicago Police Department’s Organized Crime Bureau, told the Chicago Sun-Times.

Diddy was there to root on his son Justin Combs, who received a full football scholarship to UCLA. On Sunday, Justin made his debut as a linebacker for the Bruins, who upset Nebraska in a 36-30 victory. Diddy was overcome with emotion, as he watched the game with Justin’s mother, celebrity stylist Misa-Hylton Brim. “We’re here and this feeling that you feel of your child accomplishing something that they worked hard for, that you instill in them as parents, can’t be expressed in words,” Diddy said as he cheered the team. Diddy and Justin Combs initially received some flack for accepting the full scholarship to UCLA, since Diddy’s worth almost a half-a-billion dollars. Critics claimed that money could have went to a student who couldn’t afford to pay the tuition. But the mogul defend his son and said that he earned the right to accept the scholarship to UCLA. “I didn’t even know he was doing it. I didn’t know he was doing it until I started seeing letters, he did it on his own. I didn’t make one call from my son,” Diddy said. Because it’s his first year with the team, Justin Combs did not see any playing action during the game, even though he was suited up on the field. “He’s learning the system but he gets to put on his uniform in case of an emergency,” Diddy said.

(AllHipHop News) Former Bad Boy rapper Ma$e has run afoul of the federal government, as the latest artist to owe a six-figure tax bill. TMZ.com reports that Ma$e owes over $124,000 in back taxes. According to the IRS, the rapper-turned-preacher owes taxes for the year 2000, 2001, and 2004. The news of Ma$e’s tax troubles comes on the heels of the former star’s return to the arena of rap. Ma$e, who topped the charts with singles like “Mo’ Money, Mo’ Problems” and “Can’t Nobody Hold Me Down,” is reportedly working on tracks for French Montana’s upcoming release Excuse My French, as well as Rick Ross’ pending album God Forgives I Don’t.
