Will The Throne finally reunite?
(AllHipHop News) Who says female rappers can’t get along? Two young femcees that have been making waves the last couple of years got together to remake Jay-Z and Kanye West’s 2011 hit song “Otis” off Watch The Throne. Hustle Gang’s Iggy Azalea and Detroit native Angel Haze have been putting in work to create their buzz for their individual music, but now the only two females to ever make XXL’s Freshman Class list have decided to build together for at least one track. [ALSO READ: Iggy Azalea Signs To Def Jam] The new collaboration dropped the same day Azalea went on a Twitter rant about how the media constantly pits female rappers against each other even when there is no personal beef between the performers. Apparently, Iggy feels she was misquoted in a recent article that made it seem like she had issues with Nicki Minaj. ive always been a supporter and fan of NM and it is really f###### frustrating to me, that you cant mention another person without media — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) May 23, 2013 trying to twist any word you say and turn it into something negative. why do you do that people of the press? youre all f###### snakes. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) May 23, 2013 why ask questions about “why do females in rap all hate each other” we DONT you a####### in thepress just love to try making it that way. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) May 23, 2013 and it sucks, because i actually liked that interviewer. but as it turns out you are a complete typical media c###. and thats a shame. — IGGY AZALEA (@IGGYAZALEA) May 23, 2013 [ALSO READ: Lil Kim Goes Off On Peter Rosenberg For Asking About Nicki Minaj During Tiffany Foxx Interview] Check out Angel and Iggy trading verses over the Otis Redding sampled track below. HIP-HOP RUMORS: DID JAY-Z STAND KANYE WEST UP AT THE BET AWARDS?
(AllHipHop News) Earlier today (May 22) at the BET Studios in New York City, Stephen Hill, President of BET’s Music Programming and Specials, was on hand to announce the 2012 BET Awards show’s nominees, recipient of the “Cadillac Lifetime Achievement Award,” and host for the awards, to take place on July 1 at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California. After a number of comedians were tasked with hosting the awards show in years past, and for 2012 BET has given host duties to the highest grossing actor of all time, Samuel L. Jackson. “We are massively excited about having Sam Jackson host the BET Awards,” Hill exclaimed. “His wit, presence, and gigantic personality are the perfect match for our show.” Hill also revealed that, alongside a panel that included 2012 BET Awards nominees like A$AP Rocky, Big Sean, Melanie Fiona, DJ Khaled, Diggy Simmons, Astro, and Mindless Behavior, Chris Brown and Nicki Minaj would be performing at this year’s show. (Week Ending On 3/6/12) Debuting at #3 is Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius’ WZRD (G.O.O.D./Universal Republic) project that sold just over 70,000 units despite the public outcry from the Cleveland native that his label massively undershipped the album. It appears that although the numbers are nowhere near his previous debuts, Man On the Moon and Man On the Moon II (G.O.O.D./Universal Republic), the fans still showed support for Mr. Solo Dolo despite his label’s misgivings. [youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dC84Vb2gxL0&w=560&h=315] Whitney Houston continues to dominate the charts, as fans worldwide look to rediscover the iconic singer’s music through her many albums. Yasiin Bey aka Mos Def recently released a remix to The Throne’s “Ni**a’s In Paris” entitled “Ni**ga’s in Poorest” to commemorate the anniversary of Malcom X’s death. On the track Yasiin Bey takes the exact opposite approach that Kanye West and Jay-Z took on the track and instead raps about poverty and violence. The tone is somewhat chastising towards the original track with Yasiin rapping: “Don’t get caught up in no throne,” and “Who the f-ck is Margiela?” This is all pretty odd considering that last time we check, Yasiin Bey was a G.O.O.D. Music affiliate. Check out the video and lyrics below: “These young bloods is looking scary at the mall They wearing pants, you can still see they drawers They rob a n#### in the bathroom stall They took his life cause he ain’t want to take it off Poor so hard, that sh-t cray, ain’t it, Bey? Diabetics, fish filet Poor so hard, your house so cold, ni–a, it ain’t spring Every winter landlord f-ckin’ with my heat again Bougie girl, grab your hand, show you how to do this ghetto dance F-ck your French, we ain’t in France, I’m just saying Prince Williams ain’t do it right, if you ask me If I was him, I’d put some black up in my family Fake Gucci, my ni–a, fake Louis, my killa Real drugs, my dealer, who the f-ck is Margiela? Doctors say I’m the illest, I ain’t got no insurance It’s them ni–as in poorest, be them rebel guerillas, huh” Do you think Yasiin Bey is taking shots at The Throne?

Frank Ocean Cancels NYC Show… Last night, while The Throne was tearing the roof off of the IZOD Center, Odd Future crooner Frank Ocean was set to perform at the Bowery Ballroom as part of his solo tour. Before the show’s start time last night, Ocean issued the following ‘statement’: “or should i say postponed. i played last night in new orleans, on antibiotics and some other meds. got sick a cpl days before i left los angeles. woke up this morning in new york and could barely speak. called a doctor to my hotel, got a steroid shot. took some more meds. laid in bed allday till soundcheck, got to the venue and could barely sing any of my songs. im really sorry yall. i been workin on this show for months, did everything i could to make it special for yall. i’ll be back soon as i’m healthy. thats my word. tickets will be valid for that, or you guys can get refunded. damn. this s### sucks.” Although a ton of fans were surely disappointed, there’s nothing you can do about not being able to sing when you’re a singer. Get well soon, Frank!
