(AllHipHop News) Rapper Kid Cudi and his producing partner Dot Da Genius have recently put the finishing touches on their upcoming album, WZRD, which is set for release on February 28. As both the fans and the artists wait for the project to hit store shelves, Cudi and Dot have been working on a ton of new music which will be packaged after the album’s release as a five-track EP. The announcement was made Monday night (February 13) at a listening party for the album that was being held in Hollywood, CA. Cudi had the following to say to the crowd about WZRD and what their next moves are, “We are doing an EP already and it’s going to be coming out in a couple months. We just can’t stop making records. I made a new record the other day that’s really, really, really phenomenal. So we’re gonna put out this five-track EP just to f*ckin’ put out some jams.” In addition to the album and EP, the duo plan to embark on a worldwide tour starting in April that will first hit Europe and then head back to the states. When asked about the global touring plans, Cudi responded, “this album is something the world needs to hear.” Kid Cudi will also be featured on the upcoming soundtrack to the film, The Hunger Games. Cudi created an original song for the album titled “The Ruler and The Killer.” The film’s official soundtrack will be in stores on March 20, while the film will open worldwide three days later on March 23.
(AllHipHop News) Kid Cudi and producing partner Dot Da Genius have announced the delay of their upcoming, rock-inspired album, WZRD. The album was originally set for release on January 30 – the same day as Cudi’s birthday – but will now be hitting retailers on February 28. Dot Da Genius revealed the news on Twitter last night (January 16) with the following message: “Hey Guys, WZRD Update. Me and Cudi have been working on our debut album and it’s almost near completion. We are in the final stages of mastering but we really had to take time and pay attention to the sonics as this is new territory for us. With that being said, we have decided to change the release date. We are looking roughly at Feb 28th. Y’all know how Cudi is’ and I’m the same way. Everything has to be in place and now it is. I know it’s late notice, we were trying to keep the date but got wrapped up making this album perfect for y’all. However for making you guys wait a little longer we will release ‘Brake‘ & ‘Teleport 2 Me‘ on iTunes on the previously said date. AS WELL AS ‘DOSE OF DOPENESS‘. Hopefully that will hold you guys over until the album drops!” Cudi followed up Dot’s announcement with a tweet of his own: “My whole career Ive had 2 prove people wrong, WZRD will be no different. This album will finally make people believers, WE CAN DO ANYTHING.” Previously-released tracks will be available for purchase on iTunes on January 30, with WZRD hitting store shelves on February 28th.
