Hip-Hop Rumors: Is Game’s “Jesus Piece” Going To Hit No. 1 or What?

So much for all of those publicity stunts. From the looks of the first week sales projections, Game’s new album, Jesus Piece, will limp in with just 85-95K albums sold in its debut week. But is that really considered a dud? Last year, Game’s album R.E.D. sold 98K in its first week, making it his fourth album to debut at number one. So these numbers are actually on par with what he sold first week last year, and that was enough to bring him in at number one. Unfortunately, Taylor Swift’s album, RED, is back at number one this week, after falling to number two behind Alicia Keys’ Girl On Fire. Does Game have what it takes to make Jesus Piece his fifth number one album in a row?

Did you all catch Yeezy rocking a black leather skirt on the Hurricane Sandy Relief concert the other night? Now, Kanye has been rocking skirts on tour for a few years, so this is nothing new, but most of America has never seen him rocking the feminine frock, until the nationally televised relief concert. The skirt set Twitter ablaze, and even though Kanye thinks the skirts are “fashion forward” – most of America just doesn’t agree. Outspoken rapper Cam’ron went in on Yeezy’s choice of wardrobe, and even threatened to block anyone who didn’t agree with him. Check out his tweet below slamming Yeezy’s outfit: Cam wasn’t the only one to voice his dislike for the outfit. Chris Brown also commented on Yeezy’s fashion choice. Blogger Nicole Bitchie posted a photo of Yeezy, Diddy, and actor Vin Diesel all in skirts. What would you say if I told you that 50 Cent and Game were reuniting and putting G-Unit back together? As unrealistic as that sounds, it actually won’t take much to get them back together…this is all according to Game, of course, who has an album to sell! In a recent interview with BET.com, Game reveals what it would take to get the group back together. Check out what he said below: “It wouldn’t even taken $10 million for [G-Unit to get back together]. What 50’s gotta do is let go of his ego. I don’t hold grudges, man. I think I was mad for the time being when we were going through that and after that, I immediately graduated to a neutral ground where that could of happened but it’s 50 man. Once he calms his ego and realizes that there still could be the possibility of G-Unit reforming then you know, who knows? But I know you can’t put together G-Unit without Game and 50. 50 can do all the memories but if I’m missing, it’s just not complete. And if I try to do it but he’s not there, it’s not complete.” Game, do you really think it is that easy? 50 hates you! And Young Buck is in jail! And Lloyd Banks is in limbo! And Tony Yayo, well, who knows where he is! Nonetheless, I do give Game props for not holding onto that grudge forever. You can do those things when you’re winning.

Oh lawd, this story reads like a true soap opera. According to an exclusive Bossip.com source, Nelly and Ashanti’s relationship has imploded over rumors of cheating and sleeping around. Ashanti has allegedly been leading a double life, and while she plays the doting, faithful girlfriend of Nelly to his face, behind his back she has allegedly been intimate with Jay-Z and Nas, as well as producer C#### Santana. Remember, this is all allegedly! And, in Ashanti’s defense, Nelly has also had his share of infidelity rumors, and his affinity for trickin’ on strippers and video vixens is legendary in the industry. Well, according to the source, Nelly was ready to change and move forward with their relationship, but found out that Ashanti was allegedly having a relationship with C#### Santana on the side since 2005. When he confronted Ashanti about the rumors, she allegedly denied it, but the source says that Nelly knew she was lying and dumped her. These two never quite reached the celebrity power couple potential they had in the beginning of their relationship. Hopefully they can work it out. They were cute together.

Game is becoming a pro at publicity stunts, excuse me, I mean artistic expression. The rapper has been on his publicity game for his new album, Jesus Piece, which was just released earlier this week on Tuesday. Case in point, earlier this week Game used his instagram to create a game where he told his followers his location.  The first fan to get there in 15 minutes got to meet him and also received a signed copy of the album. Now that’s social marketing at its best! Now game is taking the marketing for Jesus Piece up another level with the introduction of a white Jesus at his recent show at the House of Blues in L.A. Game began his show with someone dressed as a white Jesus who came onstage holding a Jesus piece chain in the air. Game then follows him onstage dressed in a black “Roley” hoodie (that’s his new record label). In another wasteful rapper moment, a rapper with a new album to promote just revealed that he is going to buy 25 Rolex watches for Christmas. This is also the same rapper who threw 8 birthday parties….for himself! Can you guess who it is? The rapper in question is Game! In a recent appearance on “106 & Park”, Game announced that he is going to buy 25 Rolex watches for his friends for Christmas this year. Game must be a really generous friend. Rolexes start at $3K and up. I’m sure his fiancee Tiffney is not going to be happy about hearing that news. Game’s new album, Jesus Piece, hits stores today, and he’s banking on getting another number one album under his belt. Rick Ross is finally opening up and speaking out about the incident between him and Jeezy at the BET Hip-Hop Awards earlier this year, and it seems as if Rick Ross still has some unfinished business with the snow man. Check out what he told Felisha Monet from 99 Jamz in Miami below: “This is nothing personal to me. At the BET Awards it basically just boiled down to me running across Young Jeezy, he had five security guards in front of him, five police officers behind him and we crossed paths I said ‘what’s up?’ soon as he said ‘what’s up?’ I tried to choke him. His security guards hemmed me up; whoever the b######## dude with the bumps on his face, he should give that dude something special for Christmas.” Ross got jokes! I’m better with my hands than I am at making music. So it’s not personal but if I see Young Jeezy again will I try to choke him? I don’t know that’s an option. If I see 50 Cent, is it personal? That’s probably what the high/powered producers behind the show are thinking right now! According to TMZ, “Seeds Of Hip-Hop” will star Eazy E’s son, Eric “Lil Eazy” Wright Jr., Dr. Dre’s son, Curtis Young, Jam Master Jay’s son, Jason Mizell Jr., MC Ren’s son, Anthony Dunbar, and E-40’s son, Droop E. All of the male offspring are pursuing a rap career of their own, and are said to be ready to show the public the gift and the curse of being related to a rap celebrity. The show is currently in the beginning stages and is being shopped to VH1, MTV, and E!, etc. Will you be tuning in?

Swizz Beatz is working on a new album and decided to drop a snippet of one of his new tracks on his YouRube account last night. The track is called “Sky Scrapers”. In the video, Swizz teases about 20 seconds of the track and implies that U2’s frontman Bono is on the track, as well as Kanye West. “I seen coal turned to diamonds, a blind man’s vision,” Swizz sings along with the chorus. The song has that signature Swizz Beatz bounce and towards the end of the video Swizz promises that “the album is crazy”. Swizz, Bono and Yeezy – I can’t wait to hear the full version of the track.
