(AllHipHop News) Rapper Huddy 6 was killed in a car crash yesterday (October 13th), that closed the Westbound upper deck of the George Washington Bridge in New York.The Harlem rapper, aka Huddy Combs, was born Andre Hudson. He was driving into Manhattan with Jeanette Rodriguez, 50, of The Bronx at 5:15 am, when his Mercury Marquis collided with a truck. As of yesterday, investigators were still unsure what could have caused the accident and stopped traffic for several hours during early morning rush hour.Huddy Combs, 33, was pronounced dead at the scene according to a Port Authority spokesman. The passenger, Jeanette Rodriguez, was taken to Hackensack University Medical Center said a spokesman for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. He also added that information on the nature and extent of Rodriguez’s injuries was not available, but they were not thought to be life-threatening. Combs was a member of the rap group Harlem World and a friend of rappers Cam’ron and Ma$e. The death incited a flood of postings on Twitter and hip-hop Web sites, including postings from well-known rap artists Busta Rhymes and DJ Webstar.Even Congressman Charles Rangel also tweeted a farewell to the Harlem World representative. “RIP Andre Hudson aka Huddy Combs,” he tweeted. “A little piece of Harlem’s music scene has gone with you.” “R.I.P. HUDDY 6,” Juelz Santana tweeted. “SMFH if u don’t or didn’t know who he was jus know this, he was HARLEM!!!!”  “Huddy was just — he was a Harlem staple. If you are around Harlem or in Harlem, you knew who he was. And you loved him. Everybody loved him,” said Karen Civil, who used to work as an A&R administrator at Diplomat Records, a label founded by Cam’ron and Jim Jones. “He was just a great spirit and he will truly be missed.” Huddy was credited by Cam for saving his life when he was shot in DC twice, while leaving a party during the Howard University homecoming weekend in Washington, D.C. in 2005. Huddy directed Cam to a hospital after the incident. “My man here saved my life.” Cam said at the time, in a report to MTV. Huddy Combs was a member of Mase’s Harlem World rap group in the late ’90s. The band released their only album The Movement in 1999, which became an instant hit. Shortly after the album’s release, the band dissolved.He was also featured on Die Another Day: Flawless Victory 2003 a mixtape dissing Eminem and produced by one-time Source magazine co-owner Ray Benzino. Since 2005, Huddy 6 had been a staple in Harlem and across the United States for promotions and events he was a part of coordinating.

(AllHipHop News) Oakland, California rap star MC Hammer will be honored with the World Wide Humanitarian Award during the Kick-A-Thon, which will benefit a local family who lost their father to cancer and now may lose their home. MC Hammer’s appearance is help raise the profile of the fundraising event for the Platt family, who may lose their house after Florence’s 38-year-old husband John died on September 15th from cancer.In order to raise money for Florence and her two children, Ryen and Kayla, ten bay area Taekwondo schools and the Mountain View Christian Center will host the Kick-A-Thon. On October 16th, students from each school will throw as many kicks as possible in a two-minute period, with financial donors making a financial donation based on that amount. The event was puled together by Master Johnny Kang of Kang’s Taekwondo Academy. “I have kids of my own and can only imagine what the Platt’s are going through right now,” said Master Kang. “I’m pleased this event will help them on a financial level. But I’m just as pleased so many kids, families and individuals can come together, compassionately and generously, in support of our fellow man. It’s a profound lesson for the kids and an extraordinary act of love.”The Kick-A-Thon For Humanity will be held on October 16th at the Mountain View Christian Center at 5000 Amaryllis St., in Oakley, California, tarting at 10:00 AM.

The rapper, who was released from prison after serving four years in May over a grand larceny charge, is back in the studio recording material for Game Tested & Street Approved, which is due in stores in 2011 via Duck Down. According to Black Rob, Game Tested and Street Approved is a “testimony of what I stand for and how I feel.””The people have been asking for true Hip-Hop music, and that’s what I’m giving them,” Black Rob stated. “I stayed away from features. I’ve been away for 4 joints, so I feel the people deserve to hear me. When I came home, I went right to work, and didn’t have time to reach out to cats. On my next project you will get that. As for producers, I have some up-and-coming cats on there. I believe in giving cats a chance. As far as named producers you may hear a joint or two from Buckwild, Self Service, Bishop, Scram Jones and Pete Rock.” Game Tested and Street Approved is Black Rob’s first album in over five years. (AllHipHop News) Rapper T.I. helped talk a suicidal man out of jumping off of a building in downtown Atlanta earlier this evening (October 13th). The bizarre incident unfolded when police received a 9-1-1 call from a man who was going to jump off the roof of the building where V-103 host Ryan Cameron hosts his popular daily show. According to reports, T.I. called into Cameron’s show upon hearing the news about the distressed man and offered his assistance in an attempt to diffuse the situation. Ryan Cameron invited T.I. to come over to the building, where the rap star met with police. T.I. recorded a video message pleading with the man not to take his life. According to TMZ.com, police played the video to the man, who agreed to step off of the ledge when he saw the rapper’s message. T.I. and the man met in the building’s lobby where they worked things out. Police have not charged the man with any crime.

(AllHipHop News) Music industry executive/Polo Grounds Music CEO Bryan Leach is facing criminal charges and prison time after he was arrested on Tuesday and found to be in possession of a .380 Kel-Tec handgun with hollow point bullets. Bryan Leach was a former executive at TVT Records, where he helped nurture the careers of artists like Ying Yang Twins and Lil Jon and The Eastside Boyz. Leach left TVT in 2006 and launched Polo Grounds Music, which is distributed by J Records and housed artists like Pitbull, Diamond, Yo Gotti!, Hurricane Chris and others.The same year, Leach was named Senior Vice President of Urban for J Records/RCA Music Group and later profiled in Crain’s Magazine. Leach was stopped for driving erratically around noon yesterday (October 12th) on the Upper West Side Highway in New York.When police approached the vehicle, they spotted the .380 Kel-Tec handgun on the Harlem native’s front seat. The gun was later found to be loaded with six hollow point bullets. Bryan Leach was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and reckless driving, according to a complaint that was unsealed in Manhattan Criminal Court.
