About ALLHIPHOP.COM: AllHipHop.com was founded in 1998 by “Grouchy” Greg Watkins and Chuck “Jigsaw” Creekmur. Our site is the most widely read hip-hop entity in the world, reaching millions of unique visitors per month. AllHipHop.com features daily news, rumors, feature articles, reviews, multimedia, an online community, “The Ill Community,” and other interesting content. About the position: AllHipHop.com is looking for interns who have a passion for urban music and culture; as well as marketing, communications, business development and social media. Candidates must have the ability to work independently, as well as interdependently. Candidates must be able to meet important deadlines and offer creative insight to projects. Our interns must be extremely focused and hard-working. Candidates should display strong written and verbal communications skills, as well as ingenuity and an eagerness to learn. Candidates must also possess excellent computer skills and strong organizational skills. Photoshop, FinalCut, iMovie, PowerPoint, Keynote, Excel skills a major plus. An intern with photography and video skills will be given special consideration. All College Internship candidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university. Students will be asked to dedicate at least ten hours a week to the internship. Students must provide a letter from their college or university confirming that they will receive school credit. Non-college students are welcomed to apply. Our internships are for credit or experience and career development only. Intern activities to include: Research: Identify trends in hip-hop, fashion, technology, luxury brands, magazines, websites, blogs, etc. Be able to pitch and write articles about trends. Innovate: Find and/or create new videos on third-party blogs, publications, forums, and other online communities. Socialize: Promote the site using your social media platforms, post articles on Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Tumblr, and other platforms. Assist us in engaging the YouTube community. Write: News stories, interviews with music artists, entertainers, athletes and other relevant media and cultural personalities. Assist: Perform old-fashioned intern activities like running errands, preparing emails, organizing databases, and other functions as necessary. The internship is unpaid but can count as class credit.
