(AllHipHop News) Not one to bite his tongue for anyone, Cleveland, Ohio bred rapper/crooner is sounding off about a lack of promotion via the record label.
While Cudi is signed to Universal Republic, the rapper made it very clear that he is not happy with the promotion that he has seen for his new body of work.
“King Wizard 3.4 million views on Vevo, Just What I Am has 4.3 million and my s### is not on regular rotation on radio. Hmmm,” Cudi Tweeted from his account, @ducidni.
“Trinidad James got 4.1 million views on his hit (rightfully so), and I hear that jam EVERYWHERE. Wheres my f##### spins???” the rapper born Scott Mescudi added.
As of 2009, Kid Cudi was signed to Universal Motown, which was lead by veteran Sylvia Rhone.
But she has since stepped down and is now running her new Epic distributed imprint Vested In Culture, which has acts like Casey Veggies, Deon Young and others.
In the summer of 2011, Universal Motown merged into The Island Def Jam Music Group, making Universal Republic Records its own label.
According to Kid Cudi’s website, Universal Republic claims the rights and trademarks to the site and content.
